Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a budget-friendly scope with good clear visuals and easy set-up, Monstrum Banshee LPVO might be a good fit. However, be aware of the potential risk factor in terms of longevity and the company's warranty service. If these factors aren't deal-breakers for you, the product could be worth giving a shot.

  • First impressions are good..Replaces 2 scopes.
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
I'm writing this review too soon since I haven't actually tried it out, but out of the box, I like it. It looks well built, sturdy, and the optics are very good. The mount looks good and sturdy but I didn't use it in favor of a quick detach mount. It is a little on the heavy side, but it I think it will do the job of 2 scopes. Let me explain. I had been looking for a red dot scope for pig hunting in close quarters, but couldn't find the right one despite trying several. I accidentally came across this scope. Since it goes down to 1x power and it has a lighted reticle, you can use it in the same manner as a red dot, both eyes open. AND.....Since it goes up to 6x power, it useful for those longer shots as well. Best of both worlds, except it is much heavier than a red dot. So.... For the price of a pretty good red dot scope, I have both. The one thing that I didn't like on first inspection is the back lens cap. It fits too loosely and I usually flip the cap off rather than opening it as intended. Not sure how to correct this issue. I'll update after taking it into the field if I have any issues. Lifetime warranty...I like it. ... show more

  • Excellent Scope
Style: Black | BDC B1 Reticle
This is a great scope, especially for the money. Very good mount that bolts right to the picatinny in a minute flat, very good eye relief with a long eye box, great audible/tactile feedback from the turrets with zero reset capability. Illumination works as it should, although I actually rarely use illuminated reticles. Also, reticle styles are a very personal choice, and I usually don't care for fancy, over-elaborate reticles, but I do like the reticle on this scope. The glass seems clear and bright with little to no aberration that I could detect until you went to max mag, but even then it was very minimal. The only very slight issue with this scope is with the included flip-open lens covers. The Objective end cover is nice and tight and works as it should, but the Ocular cover is loose and barely stays on the scope. When you try to flip the cover open it falls completely off the scope. Don't really use the covers anyway so it's not a big deal. ... show more

  • Decent beginner scope I guess
Style: Black | MX1 Reticle
The price and performance make this decent for beginners. At least I think so, being a beginner myself. This comes with a mount, and seems to hold zero if you torque it right. Of course, I use it on a .22, so I could probably hand tighten and not have to worry about it.... For the price, it is useful to get in to LPVOIs and start to learn how they work. One note, you might start learning about parallax adjustment, and start to wonder how to adjust it on this one. Don't bother though, these cheaper ones don't have this feature. So depending on your head placement each shot, the reticle might move a bit, reducing accuracy. But it won't matter much unless you are wanting to get perfectly accurate or compete, the POI won't move all that much. Visibility seems good to me. If you 6x zoom, stuff closer than 15 yards will be a bit blurry. Not sure if that is just normal or what ... show more

  • I’d recommend it
Style: Black | BDC C1 Daylight Bright Reticle
Great optic for the money. I’ve had no issues. I’m impressed and happy to have spent less on premium performance. I have used very expensive optic options but this works comparable to other priced much higher than what this is being offered at

  • Okay, hear me out
Style: Black | BDC B1 Reticle
I gave it a 5 star rating simply due to the fact that it is priced so low. If this optic was $250, I would have given it 4 stars, if it was $400, I would have given it 3 stars, and so on. The clarity of the glass is actually pretty impressive, comparing it to two other LPVOs (Athlon Argos BTR 1-8 and a Vortex Viper 1-6), the monstrum seemingly has clearer glass than the Athlon, but obviously falls short of the Viper. Build quality is adequate. Also, take the price point of $130 including a scope mount, crazy value. Often times, mounts are upwards of $130. Sure, its just a basic 1-6, but the quality is good, and it holds a zero (at least on my 6.5 Grendel). If you are on a tight budget, and are looking to get into LPVOs, give it a shot. ... show more

  • What a Great LPVO!
Style: Black | BDC B1 Reticle
This this is AWESOME!! The glass clarity is great and the red and green illuminating functions are awesome. I was looking at the Sig Tango before I found this and I am SO happy I did. I’ve already gone on to buy more from Monstrum. I did have to return the first one as the illumination had a short. But the second was delivered and it works perfectly! Everything is a bit stiff but I’m hoping it’ll loosen up with time. ... show more
