  • Nice scope for the price
Color: Black
I got this for a Marlin 795 22LR rifle I got for my nephews. I believe this is made for an AR platform rifle so the eye relief about 3 inches. I needed to mount the scope pretty far back with an offset mount to manage the eye relief, but once I found a mount that did this the scope worked great and felt really good on the rifle. I've ran 900 or so rounds through the rifle at this point and it holds zero. I contacted Monstrum when I was looking a this scope and told them what I was going to mount it and use it for and told me this would be great on a 22 rifle and it has been. I haven't really used the illumination as I have only shot it in day time, but it is bright enough in the shade. I don't imagine it is day time bright though, but the reticle is etched and easy to see. I ended up using a centerpoint offset dovetail mount, which can be found on Amazon, if anyone is thinking of doing a similar set up. ... show more

  • You get what you pay for.
Color: Black
This is a small cheap scope. It's perfect for a 22LR or Magnum. I wouldn't put it on a large caliber rifle, but that's just me. I put this on a 22 magnum and sighted to 100 yards. I was bullseye within 21 shots. (three 7 round mags) The eye relief is a little shorter that I was expecting. However it isn't terrible. The Red/Green reticle is perfect for the early/late day shooting. Basically put it on the lowest light setting (red) and you'll have a crosshair that's viewable in low light conditions. The light transmission is adequate for the price point. I was able to see clearly until I couldn't see with my bare eyes. Over all it’s the perfect scope for small cal rifles. The “range finder” reticle is good for guesstimating bullet drop, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it. Would I buy it again? Yes Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes Is it worth the money? Yes Is it as good as a $300 scope? No. You get what you pay for. For what this is… it’s fine. ... show more

  • Good scope, sun light effects illuminated reticle.
Color: Black
This is a good scope at this price point. Clear bright glass, holds zero on a 30 cal rifle, easy to sight in (I was sighted in after 5 rounds) and well built. The range finding reticle is a plus for sighting in. The illumination for the reticle (the red or green), however, is not visible in bright sun light. Turned to the max setting of either color, the reticle remains black. Passing my hand in front of the scope, causing a shadow, I can see the colored reticle. Otherwise, not. I may buy a sunshade to see if that helps the illuminated reticle. Monstrum should look into re-design of their reticle lighting method since this is a selling point for the scope. Update: Monstrum apparently dose not make a sunshade for this scope. I tried other brands but without success. The Objective bell housing is an off size measuring at 39.3mm. A standard 40mm sized sunshade is too large. Too bad. ... show more

  • Very good scope for the money
Color: Black
I put this scope on my Ruger 10/22 and it performs wonderfully. I have been shooting it at ranges as far as 100yds and having the adjustable objective helps with parallax and keeps me shooting as well as I can. What I like about this scope, aside from the adjustable objective, is that it is light weight, compact, and the glass is clear and bright. While it features an illuminated reticle, I generally do not use them so I won't comment on that. Sighting in was very easy and mine actually was shooting only slightly low at 10 yards right after mounting the scope. I sighted the scope in at 25 yards - my usual shooting distance for my 10/22, and later walked it out to 50 and then 100 yards. As expected, my groups opened up, but that is more a function of my skills (or lack thereof) and not the scope. The included throw lever for the magnification ring is a welcome feature making it quick and easy to get the desired power. Markings on the objective bell indicate where to adjust the objective to correct for parallax at the appropriate distance. So far, the scope has held zero perfectly over the course of shooting a 500 round bulk pack. My intention for this scope is small game hunting in the fall and the light 12 oz. weight will certainly make carrying my 10/22 rifle easy in the field. For the money, this scope is punching well above its weight class for what it gives you. It is not going to be as refined as a $1000 Vortex or Leupold, but is does the job well without hurting your wallet. ... show more

  • Very good for the money
Color: Black
These Monstrum scopes are great at a great price. I have a few of them now and also have much more expensive brand name scopes and I’d put these right up there with the high dollar ones.

  • Very upset
Color: Black
I have not mounted this scope and tried it out yet. The scope seems like a well made sturdy scope with nice clear glass in it, however, my main issue with it is that it was advertised with a 1/4 moa at 100 yds, the first thing I did when I got the scope was to take the turret covers off and check, it says 1/2 moa! The main reason I bought this scope was for the 1/4 moa. Very upsetting, now wondering if the other Monstrum scope that I'm looking at for a high-end build is an honest description. If anything changes I will update this review. Update, took it to the range and sighted it in, was very easy, nice clear glass, worked great, still not sure if it's 1/2 or 1/4 MOA at 100yds. Holding zero still after about 150rds of 22MAG ammo. ... show more
