Description

Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG that will transport players to the colorful kamura village, an all-new serene mountain locale that attracts visitors with its unique culture and innovative hunting technologies. After hunters equip their armor and select from one of the various weapon types, all-new hunting grounds await, including the ancient shrine ruins and more. As players defeat monsters and progress through the game, items from Fallen foes can be used to craft unique weapons and armor that will increase their chances of future success and survival. Hunters can tackle these challenges solo, or with up to three other players in local or cooperative online play. Evolving the monster Hunter series, monster Hunter Rise will provide players with an inventive set of new tools to track down and defeat threatening monsters. For the first time ever in a monster Hunter game, wire-based grappling actions can be performed by using a “wirebug” while standing or in mid-air, adding an all- new level of aerial maneuverability to hunting strategies and attacks. The game will also debut new hunting partners called palamutes, personalized and rideable “canyne” companions that will provide players with a new set of attack Options, while “felyne” palicoes will return as support characters for actions like healing.

  • A Stunning, Addictive Adventure – Monster Hunter Rise is a Must-Have for Nintendo Switch Owners
Monster Hunter Rise for the Nintendo Switch is an absolute triumph, bringing the intense action, strategy, and world-building the series is known for to the portable power of the Switch. Whether you're a long-time fan of the Monster Hunter franchise or new to the series, this game is an absolute must-have for anyone who loves action RPGs. First, let’s talk about the gameplay. Monster Hunter Rise builds on the formula established by Monster Hunter World, but it introduces exciting new mechanics that make it feel fresh and innovative. The core gameplay loop of hunting massive, powerful monsters and crafting better gear from their parts remains, but with the addition of the Wirebug and the new Palamute companion, the game feels faster and more dynamic than ever before. The Wirebug is a game-changer. It allows for incredible mobility, making it easier to scale walls, dodge attacks, and even use special moves during combat. This adds a new layer of strategy, as you can now move around the battlefield much more freely and creatively. The Palamute, a dog-like companion, is another fantastic addition. Not only can you ride it to travel quickly across the map, but it also helps in combat, providing both offensive and defensive support. These additions help make the hunting experience feel faster-paced and more fluid than previous entries. The monsters in Monster Hunter Rise are as awe-inspiring and terrifying as ever. From massive, multi-stage battles with towering beasts to high-speed encounters with nimble, agile monsters, the variety and challenge never get old. The game features a diverse range of creatures, each with unique behaviors, weaknesses, and strategies required to take them down. The sense of satisfaction after defeating a tough monster and crafting a new weapon or armor set from its parts is incredibly rewarding. The graphics are stunning, especially for a Nintendo Switch title. The environments are beautifully designed, ranging from lush forests and towering mountains to eerie swamps and frozen tundras. Each area feels unique, with vibrant color schemes and intricate details that really make the world feel alive. The performance is also solid, with smooth framerates that ensure the action remains fluid, even during intense monster battles. Monster Hunter Rise offers a wealth of content. The Village Quests and Hub Quests provide both solo and multiplayer experiences, so whether you’re hunting alone or with friends, there’s always something to do. The game supports local and online multiplayer, so you can team up with friends to tackle some of the more challenging hunts. The online multiplayer is smooth, and hunting with others is an absolute blast, as you strategize and take down monsters together. The soundtrack is another standout feature. The music is sweeping and cinematic, perfectly complementing the epic battles and majestic environments. The sound design during fights—especially the growls and roars of the monsters—is immersive and intense, helping to elevate the adrenaline-pumping action. Final Thoughts: Overall, Monster Hunter Rise is an exceptional game that showcases what the Nintendo Switch is capable of. It’s packed with content, innovative gameplay mechanics, and stunning visuals that make it one of the best entries in the series. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, the game offers a deep, rewarding experience that will keep you hooked for hours on end. The addition of the Wirebug, Palamute, and new gameplay mechanics makes the combat feel fresh and exciting, while the monster variety, world-building, and co-op multiplayer ensure that there’s always something new to discover. Monster Hunter Rise is a must-have for anyone looking for a rich, challenging, and fun action RPG on the Switch. Highly recommended for both solo players and multiplayer enthusiasts! Let me know if you find this helpful, I hope it is! I put a lot of effort in writing these reviews so it would be greatly appreciated! ... show more

  • Another fun game of the Monster Hunter series
Monster Hunter Rise is Capcom's second Monster Hunter game for the Nintendo Switch. It shares a lot of similarities with its predecessor, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, in terms of graphics design, and re-used most of the moves from Monster Hunter World. There are 14 weapons to choose from. The game introduced a wirebug move which allows you to climb a cliff and to do aerial attacks. The clutch claw is not available for the hunters to mount the monsters. You will begin with the Village quests to hunt the smaller monsters, and then progress to face the more challenging monsters in the High Rank Hub quests. There is a new type of quest called Rampage, in which you have to deploy weapons, such as ballista, canons, and machine guns, to prevent the monsters from breaking the gates. If you play a Monster Hunter game for the first time, consider joining other hunters in the multiplayer mode, as the level 7 hub quests are quite challenging even for an experienced player. You should also practice with your weapon in the training area to get familiar with the combos. The graphics has not improved much since the Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, so don't expect to have the same visual experience as Monster Hunter World. But the background music is nicely done. The controls for melee weapons such as hammer are very swift with the wirebug attacks. The weapons do not require a lot of materials to craft or upgrade, so you will expect less grinding (fighting the same monsters over and over) compared to Monster Hunter World. The palico (cat) and palamute (dog) are extremely helpful not just in the battle, but also can help you gather materials (honey, bitterbug, mandragora) in different scenarios. You can hire new palicoes and palamutes in the Buddy Plaza. I recommend having at least 7 palicoes and palamutes: 2 for battles, 3 for argosy, and 2 for Meowcenaries. Before starting a battle, you should always eat a meal that boosts your health and stamina by 30-50%. You should also customize your Item Pouch layouts by including items like Potion, Mega Potion, Max Potion, Traps, Tranq Bomb, Antidote, Nulberry, and Cleanser. The nulberry is useful to negating the water and thunder effects on your body, which depletes your stamina quickly. The traps and tranq bombs are a must-have to capture a monster after it felt asleep. The Cleanser is for removing the foam or stench. The antidote is to negate the poison effect. I spent about 44.5 hours to complete the game by doing just the key quests and beating the final boss. I expect to spend another 40 hours to complete all other quests. It is a really fun game with many improvements over Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, especially the movements and controls. I would recommend it to anyone who is new to the series, and maybe they can try Monster Hunter World: Iceborne in the future. ... show more

  • Monster hunter for switch.
I got this game cuz I'm a big monster hunter fan. It's fun, but lots of work with having to grind against monsters to get materials needed to upgrade weapons and armor. A fun adventure action RPG game! Lots to see and do! Hundreds of hours of gameplay!
