I had to go blonde for a costume. I hate wigs and usually do hair spray. I thought I’d try something new, so I got the gold. I got a lot of complements, and it even up looking pretty natural. I have light brown hair, and friends kind of did a double take and asked how I made my hair blonde, and suggested I make it permanent. So the results were fantastic. The application was a challenge, however. I imagine if you have curly hair — especially tight curls — application is pretty simple, because product gets applied to the surface of the hair. With my long, straight hair, I had to apply the product throughout, and that took about 30 minutes. I put a generous amount on my fingers and kind of brushed it through my hair. I used a hairbrush to even things out here and there, but because it’s a wax I of course couldn’t brush it normally. I’d think I was done, and then turn my head and see a brown layer underneath, and touch up. Then my boyfriend came in and saw spots I’d missed and he filled those in. In the end, I was a convincing golden blonde with a bit of extra volume. It was stiff to the touch, but looked soft. The light brushing helped with that. Once the product was dry, there wasn’t much trouble with color rubbing off, although gold isn’t a very loud color in the first place. It did get on the collar of my jacket, but my shirt was ok. I’m not sure if I’ll use this again because of the trouble it was to apply, but I enjoyed the results. ... show more

For my hair texture I had to slap a lot of that product on and run it through my coils. After that it did this job. Also wear gloves. While putting the product in your hair. The product will be all over your hands and you have to wash your hands as well. Also works very well when you sleep and ready for the next day. Just need to wear a bonnet. This works sooooo good! The dye smells amazing, it’s not chalky it does leave alittle grease residue on hands. It last for a very long time and it took me a while to get used to the color! But defiantly go for it. Would be buying again!!

I initially got this to see if I would like the color on me, and I was hesitant to bleach my hair. The color did look great and it helped define my curls. I was loving it when I put it on. Don't do it without gloves btw. But when it dries and you touch it. FLAKES WERE EVERYWHERE! On my clothes, my neck, my face, my backpack, my chair at work or the couch at a friend's place, the color transfered to everything. Just itching my scalp and I had Flakes all over me. I had to constantly wipe my neck and face at work. It was a nightmare. Then the color dimmed immediately the next day. I was pissed I just washed it out. And decided to Dye my natural hairs instead. So I DO NOT recommend this item at all. So if you looking for something for 1 day this may do the trick if you can stand the flakes. Otherwise I say Do do it. ... show more
