  • 3.0 out of 5 stars To Good Too Be True??? Usually is.
Color: Cherry
I would give this Five Stars but I have a problem with the craftmanship. Made In China of course.. I am not a Glacier. The Glass is 3/4 inch thick and weighs a Ton. That is fine. I noticed Three Imperfections with in the first five minutes after I caught my breath. Two areas have swirls in the glass/ ripples. Looks like if you were to pour water into a bucket and it froze instantly. Then you buffed it out to smooth it over and polished it. Third area: leading edge has an area about three inches long that has been sanded and buffed out. Probably removed 1/4 inch of glass due to the tapper formed. That was caused probably by a chip in the glass and was repaired. Bottom line the glass is a second. Definately not premium. I am really not complaining because the price is right but if you purchased this on EBAY these areas would have been brought to your attention. You know those little clear circle things that you see between glass and wood furniture? Well this table does not come with those protective things so it is Glass on Wood and I scratched the wood trying to center the glass. The base is fine. It does have a little wiggle factor but I think it will be fine. These things show the difference between an original piece and a replica. This is obviously a replica. If you went to Raymore and Flanigan's and purchased a glass coffee table and saw these imperfections you would return it or not buy it at all. I think it looks great over all and too return it is out of the question. Unless they came into my house to remove it. It is really heavy and you should have two people to install it. I did it alone and my Back is paying for the trouble. So there you have it. I like it and the price is right. Hope this review was helpful. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Fake It Til You Make It
Color: Walnut
Ok, so in the same spirit as many other reviewers I'll note several things: (1) The packaging on this thing is quite robust. This is a good thing given that you're receiving a solid piece of glass that's an inch thick and while I didn't personally weigh it, has to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 lbs. The glass was packaged in its own box, which was stapled/nailed tighter than....well you get the point. On top of this, was another securely sealed box with the two legs and the axle. These two items were stacked on one another and then sealed inside of a small crate for stability. Removing the crate was the hardest part so be prepared to have a hammer or a crow bar to pry them loose. Be care though as the glass, although thick, is still glass. All this was in turn wrapped in plastic wrap, covered in bubble wrap and then wrapped again in plastic wrap. All this is to say, you'll break a sweat getting this thing out of it's packaging, and if you don't have a hammer (like we did) then you'll just be S.O.L. (2) The glass is thick and heavy, so have at least one person help you move it on top of the legs. Speaking of the legs, I thought they would be a heavier wood, but they may just be walnut veneer. This doesn't detract from the overall quality or feel of the table. It definitely looks like the real thing. (3) I didn't receive any instructions on how to put the item together, but if you can manage to order the table online, you should, with a bit of trial and error, figure out how to attach the legs. If you can't, kill yourself. (4) Once we got the glass on the legs, the glass had a tendency to slide around a bit. Picture Tom Cruise from risky business in his tighty whities. We solved this problem by taking a couple of plastic thingys you put underneath a cabinet to make it level (I'll add pictures eventually) on the existing plastic thingys already attached to the legs. If you don't mitigate this, the glass will slide off at the slightest touch, most likely chipping or breaking the glass (this is especially true if you live and/or hang out with alcoholics). Final Thoughts: The table looks great. I have encountered a real table and the average consumer/house guest will not be able to discern a difference. ... show more

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars Dont believe the haters
I have no idea what the people who gave it 1 star were thinking, my only though is that I received a better item. For what its worth I ordered the 3/4 inch thick glass version. The glass arrives packed in cardboard surrounded by a wood casing. I have attached many pictures of the unpacking and setup of this table. the two legs were easy to put together with the included tool and although it did not include instructions you would have to be pretty thick headed to not figure it out (1 bolt, two legs, 1 table top..) The extreme weight of the 3/4 inch thick glass keeps it from moving or shifting around on the base. If people have stability concerns they should try widening or narrowing the legs as well as making sure the glass is placed correctly in the center of the table. I mean, I obviously wouldn't trust it if i was pushing it over hard or if I fell into it but this is to be expected with any piece of furniture. If you have small kids you probably shouldn't be buying big glass tables anyway. Please see all my customer images for detailed setup and finished product... So happy I got a good bargain on this table. The shipping alone should have cost half the price. ... show more

  • 4.0 out of 5 stars Worth it as a Glass Replacement
Color: Cherry
I have a H.Miller "original" Noguchi table. While moving it, I broke the glass. Replacement from local glass vendors was in the $700 range. I am very pleased with the glass in this table. It is almost identical to the original (it has a slight bevel on its edges, the original had none) and well worth the price. The table base is OK but doesn't really compare well to the original. I think it is solid wood but stained a cherry color; I don't think it's actually cherry wood. The pieces are held together by a long threaded steel rod and it has very small plastic feet. The H.Miller version has no visible holes so you can"t really figure out how it's put together. (there is an internal piece that holds the wood and the base looks like a single natural piece of wood, no plastic feet, no drill holes.) That said, this is a great deal for a classic look, and well worth it. Plus with free shipping and crazy good packaging, it's a steal. ... show more
