Love these lights. Not hard to put up but definitely tricky. Make sure you have a buddie and lay on the ground in the pattern you choose first to make sure it works on your ceiling. The brightness is perfect and not bothersome to the eyes. Great price and worth the buy.

I did a solo install of two sets on a 16ft ceiling in a two car garage. First my wife painted the ceiling tricorn black - that wasn't part of the solo act. Then I used a laser level - essential given the height - to figure out where I wanted the center of the two rectangles to be, and from there used masking tape to mark the borders of the rectangles. In particular I taped the corners and the centers of the sides. I'd not be able to have the lasers on during the install because scaffolding would block the light. Then, with a scaffold, I used 1.5 inch spacers (mcmaster.com/94639A452), plastic anchors (amazon.com/dp/B0F2TC6RNV) and 2.5in #9 star drive construction screws (overkill but had them around and they were the right length). The work flow was to gently drive a screw through the mounts into the drywall to figure out where the drywall anchors should go, then remove the mounts (or push them to the side), then drill a hole big enough to accept an anchor, place the anchor, then screw the light mount in with the spacer. Each light requires about 56 screws (and anchors and spacers). The spacers are essential - it allows you to hide the final hookup to power. I used black extension cords (with 90deg plugs) to connect to existing ceiling outlets, running all wires above the lights anchoring with 3M (amazon.com/XHF2018-Adhesive-Mounts-Holders-HS-101S/dp/B07MH6DGMM). I first did the outer rectangles, then did the hex lights starting in the center and moving "north", then "south". I was impressed with both the tightness and accuracy of the light fittings, and the fact that they had just enough "slack" to allow disassembly and reassembly during the screw placement and final anchoring process. You just need a flathead screwdriver to insert under a tab, then pull them apart easily. This is only easy if you use spacers. The kits came with an extra light in case one was defective, but in my kit all the lights worked. It was gratifying to see them all light up after the assembly. It took three days - lots of up and down. I'm pleased with the result, and hope they last for years. Time will tell. ... show more

Works as intended. Bright, aesthetically pleasing, and dimmable. I did use 1-1/2 inch spacers tubes and 3 inch screws to drop the lighting to avoid the garage mounting hardware. I Installed two sets in a side by side garage lighting my home gym and workshop cabinets.

I gave it a 3 star because the dimming function doesn't work. Some lights dim, and others do not. To get the desired amount of light and due to the dimming function not working, I had to remove some of the lighting bars. However, they were easy to hang and set up. I installed them by myself, but two people would have been faster. I used some of the provided screws with Command Strips. Overall, I am happy just wished they would dim. After reviewing several options I decided to give this one a try. I installed it to my garage ceiling by myself. Took me several hours as I used the screws to secure them to the ceiling. It looks GREAT on my ceiling. Only rated it a 4 out of 5 because the dimmer feature doesn't really appear to work well for me even after customer support assisting. Looks too good to remove/return merely because of the inconsistent dimmer feature. I added a motion sensor switch and smart socket switch that has me able to light up the garage based on motion or using my cell phone app!! Looks amazing. ... show more

They are nice and bright and are dimeable as mentioned however, you have to turn them on and off until you get them as dim as you want. Not very convinient
