I love everything about this kit. You don't need anything else outside of the kit to create a nice mani. It comes with everything you need to start in my opinion. I am totally new to polygel, like i had no idea how to do it and it was sooooo easy for me to use. I did watch a few tutorials on YouTube and followed the directions it came with. I tried one finger first to kinda practice and i liked it (see picture) . I have nothing negative to say so far as far as application. Don't know yet about how long it will last UPDATE SO i did both hands and boy that took practice. I find that using alcohol instead of the slip solution is easier for me because the dual form stick better to the nail bed, giving me time to clean underneath my nails. I'm still not good at knowing how much I should put on the dual form. I suggest having everything laid out in front of you. It makes the process faster . I think I will be purchasing extras like the nail clips to help hold the nails to help hold everything in place. It is still easy to use ans great for beginners.

This Modelone kit is perfect for beginners. I am in awe at how incredible my first set of poly gel nails turned out! The kit contains almost everything you need for your nails with the exception of the optional dehydrator and primer. As a novice, I can state that the gel is perfect for beginners - not too thick to move around with the included slip solution and not so thin that it runs off the form before you have time to cure. The colors are fun and this kit even included glitter and a lovely nail art brush. Oh, and the 48 watt lamp is far from the throwaway type as it has 30, 60 & 90 second timers and it’s motion activated. If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend ordering. You won’t be sorry! I cannot stop staring at my nails or (embarrassingly) sending pictures to all of my friends!

Cures fine, pretty easily workable with a little practice, and looks very nice. But. I will say. I wish this kit came with dehydrator and primer, or your nails won't stay on? Order that if you have troubles with peeling. And like someone else mentioned a nail drill works magic with thick nail product. But a regular file works fine, thats all I used for this test nail.

I’ll start by saying that this is my first time doing my nails with any sort of acrylic/hybrid gel. I don’t get them done in salons ever either so that should give you a picture of my starting point. This was my first time even using gel polish. The pictures are after I finished putting on the set and after removal. Here were my takeaways: 1. I didn’t find it terribly difficult but I did take my time - and by that I mean 3.5 hours of time. I also watched a LOT of you tube videos on both putting them on and making shorter nails AND on removal and using a drill. 2. They came out pretty good and I was happy with them for my first time however they were far from perfect. Really this comes down to practice - I had some minor cuticle flooding and I thought they felt too thick. Also I didn’t do the best job under the nails. 3. I did paint them. I think doing it again I’d paint them rather than worry about colored gel. 4. They were in good shape after a week and a LOT of abuse (dishes, food prep, gardening, cleaning none of which I bother wearing gloves for). I chose to take them off but they would have lasted longer for sure. 5. Removal was easier than I thought. Don’t take that as me saying it was ‘easy’ - but I was definitely dreading the removal and was quite relieved to zip through. It took about an hour. I’m not going to say my nails are in perfect shape but they aren’t really damaged either. Also hydrate hydrate hydrate - cuticle oil and cream and all of that are key. I did buy some additional items to help - including a drill which was key for removal (a cheap drill worked fine), acetone, gel polish colors and some clips to hold the forms down during curing. That’s in addition to the tools I already had because I do my own pedicures including every metal tool they make and files and buffers etc. All and all I’m happy with the set and what I can do at home with it. I’m sure with time and practice I’ll be quicker and better at it. Take your time and have fun with it!

I'm so happy with this kit! This was my first time ever doing nail extensions, and there was quite a bit of a learning curve. The dual forms it comes with didn't fit my nails well, as I've got flat nail beds, so using those was a huge pain. After watching a ton of YouTube videos, I decided to purchase paper forms and those were a lot easier for me to work with. The lamp works great, I've had no issues so far. The cuticle tool that it came with I'm not a fan of, so I purchased a metal cuticle pusher and clippers. A big reason I bought this specific kit was for the cuticle oil, and it smells so good! I'm excited to use the glitter and rhinestones, probably when I do my next set. The gel itself is very durable, I've only had one nail break in the past 2.5 weeks and that was honestly user error. I didn't really like the slip solution it came with so I used 70% rubbing alcohol and it worked like a charm. All in all, it's a great, quality kit that comes with the necessities to get started!

Great kit for beginners. Takes some practice but easy to use. The kit comes with everything you need. Unfortunately upon arrival the enclosed glitter container was broken so everything was covered in glitter and now I have none to use. The curing times in the instructions did not dry the base coat but otherwise it went as described. Product did start lifting after only two days but I think that’s because I didn’t file all of the sides enough. For the price i would recommend. Update: day three: the product has lifted and peeled off on every finger. Not sure it’s worth the time it takes to do for such a short life span.

This stuff is gonna put the nail salons out of business! So darn easy to use, I can’t even believe it! DO NOT be afraid of this product! I have a finger deformity on my left hand which makes it difficult to perform easy tasks, and I was able to easily apply this product using my left hand! End result is strong, shiny, colorful nails in about an hour, even for beginners! Nails stay super shiny for the entire time they’re on, they do not pop off, and I’ve had no issues with chipping or breaking. I freakin’ love this product! I’ll be giving a few of these away as Christmas gifts this year.

My first few sets didn’t last very long, I was definitely still learning how to apply them, but the last one I did stayed for almost two months. Sometimes the sides on the nails start coming up, but that’s from my nail growing out and the fact that the nail forms aren’t perfect for my nails. I’ve seen a few people say their sets didn’t stay on at all but I can only imagine they didn’t set right/they didn’t use the base coat. I would also recommend buying a nail drill to remove them and shape them because it’s much easier. I won’t say my nails aren’t damaged but they’re still relatively healthy after maybe 5-6 sets. If you’re gonna do your nails a lot you should probably focus on nail health just to make sure you don’t do too much damage but compared to my nails after acrylics, polygel is so much better. It’s time consuming at first when you’re learning to do them but I can do my own set in an hour and other people’s even faster. If you don’t want to just do plain colors Modelones gel polish is also great, or you could always do regular polish with a top coat on top. There’s also one small issue I’ve had where sometimes the polygel doesn’t cover the entirety of my nail and then my nail will chip, but that’s just a small annoyance. Overall a great product and a great alternative to acrylic, let alone the fact that it’s significantly cheaper. I’ve absolutely saved hundreds off of this it’s incredible. I feel like this sounds paid but lowkey more people should be using this. I added a few photos of one of my first sets and one of my more recent ones, I unfortunately don’t have any of my last one but it was great lol. Also an example of the nail chipping after I took off a set.
