Description

Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 is recommended for four-cycle motorcycles that specify the use of a 20W-50 engine oil. It provides excellent performance in motorcycle engines that are designed with a common engine/transmission lubrication system or where the engine lubrication system is separate from the transmission system. In the case of the latter, follow the manufacturer's recommendation for the type of fluid to be used in the transmission. Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 engine oil is also designed to provide the proper frictional characteristics necessary for wet-clutch engine/transmission systems. Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50 exceeds the requirements of API Service Categories SH, SG/CF, CD and has been fully tested, both on laboratory dynamometers and in the field, to provide optimum horsepower and acceleration. Fully synthetic Mobil 1 motorcycle oils are specifically engineered for use in motorcycles. The formulations are based on the proven technology used in other Mobil 1 automotive products, yet they are optimized for the unique requirements of a motorcycle engine and/or transmission. You can use them with confidence, knowing they will protect your bike in extreme situations where conventional motor oils simply can not stand up, including extended high-speed operation and prolonged idling in summertime traffic. Like Mobil 1 automotive products, the three Mobil 1 motorcycle oils are based on proven, advanced synthetic oil technology. These unique, fully synthetic motorcycle oils are scientifically engineered to withstand the extreme heat produced by high- revving motorcycle engines and the toughest riding conditions. These formulations are designed specifically for the unique needs of motorcycles. Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include conventional, synthetic, diesel, bio-based, hybrid (blends of conventional and synthetic), and recycled oils. Motor oil varies in weight and viscosity, as well as additives that some manufacturers add to the oil during the refining process. A numerical code system created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) grades motor oils according to viscosity--the higher the number between 0 and 60, the more viscous (thicker) the oil is. Most consumer motor oils are graded by two numbers, with the first number indicating cold weather (Winter or "W") performance.SAE 20W-50This oil has a weight of SAE 20W-50, meaning it has an SAE viscosity rating of 20 in cold temperatures and a rating of 50 at normal operating temperature. Always check your vehicle's owner's manual to verify that this is the correct weight of motor oil for your vehicle.Conventional Motor OilThis oil is a conventional motor oil, meaning it is refined from crude oil or petroleum products. Conventional motor oils may or may not have additives included after refining. Conventional motor oils are more versatile than synthetic or hybrid motor oils, because they are suitable for use with nearly all types of modern vehicle engines, from cars and trucks to motorcycles, ATVs, farm equipment, and more.

  • This is my go-to oil for my Harleys and my car
Size: 1 Quart (32 Ounce), (Case of 6)
The synthetic is my go-to from all my vehicles that require oil. I like they make a two cylinder motorcycle version as well. When another name brand did a test they claimed point 0037 where in the cylinder and that this was rated at 0044 in the cylinder regarding where. Well that's not that much off. And the other brand you have to mail order cuz I can't find it in any of the auto stores but I find this anywhere and everywhere here in Southern California. I end up I'm a little low I want to top off I'm sort of messed up with the other brand. But I can find this anywhere. They even have it at the oil change places if you request it. I always buy my own and tell him oh I bought it I just can't do the change cuz I don't want to crawl under my little car to find the darn oil filter. So I just get charge for the actual change. And I do my own on my bikes. Get a nice filter from a well-known brand that they sell here on Amazon. I get the Chrome ones for the bikes. And I feel all three holes with this oil. They do make a heavy duty gear oil and I use that in the transmission hole of my Harley-Davidson vehicles. I'd say a+. Just available everywhere works fantastic last forever etc. ... show more

  • It'd better be the best at 10 bucks a quart
Size: 1 Quart (32 Ounce), (Case of 6)
This is the best oil I have ever used. I couldn't believe the change I felt in the first 5 minutes of riding. Up and down shifting was smooth as warm butter and zero clutch slipping. That being said, it'd better be at 10 bucks a quart! ;-) So it cost me $24 to change my oil now, without the filter. I am NOT a motorcycle/engine gear head, so I can ONLY speak to how I feel my 2002 Suzuki SV650S (street sports bike) used the oil. It is a v-twin and a wet clutch. My history: When I got my bike in 2005, I started trying to use Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Motor Oil SAE 20W-50 - 1 Quart (Case of 6), then the dealership guy talked me back to Suzuki 10w-40, then after reading forums I switched to Shell Rotella 550019913 15W-40 T Triple Protection Motor Oil - 1 Gallon, (Pack of 3). I can't recall how the bike handled on the Valvoline oil since it was so long ago, but this oil has surpassed all those oils and how I felt the bike handled. I got this case in along with a K&N KN-138 Powersports High Performance Oil Filter (I like the hex nut on the filter) and changed the oil myself. I tried to get every drop of old oil out by leaning the bike back and forth slow like with the plug and filter out. The Valvoline SynPower Full Synthetic Motor Oil SAE 20W-50 - 1 Quart (Case of 6) says it is not "certified" for wet clutches. To me, that doesn't mean it CAN'T be used for my v-twin, and I would enjoy the savings of $3 a quart, but everyone keeps saying an engine "re-build" is more expensive than oil so...I'm stuck buying what I feel is the safer decision. If you read a bunch online, you'll see all the guys who say motorcyclist are just being swindled into buying "motorcycle" oil when it is exactly the same stuff that is in the bottle without a motorcycle emblem on it. I can't give any insight into it and it is rather frustrating. I DO KNOW however that if the emblem on the back of oil says "energy savings" you absolutely should not put this in the motorcycle. That being said, the Valvoline was safe in that regards as is many of the other "non motorcycle certified" fully synthetic oils. What is important to know about oil for motorcycles that I have learned: 1) Change it regularly 2) Don't get stuff with additives for energy savings 3) get 20w-50 for v-twins, especially those in lower states where it doesn't get very cold ... show more

  • Synthetic oil review
Size: 1 Quart (32 Ounce), (Case of 6)
Been using Mobil 1 products for years. Never an issue. Price needs to be more competitive. Valvoline full synthetic is my backup when price comes in to play

  • Way better than HD oil
Size: 1 Quart (32 Ounce), (Case of 6)
I didn't think I would notice much a difference, if any, between this and the HD oil the Harley dealership uses. I figured all the reviews about the engine running cooler were just exaggerating. After trying it myself in my 2008 Sportster XR1200, I can confirm the reviews are right. VERY noticeable difference in running temperature. It runs much cooler now. However, I did not hear much of a change in engine noise like others claim, however it does run smoother. I'll never switch back to that Harley branded stuff again. This pretty much confirmed for me what all Harley owners already know; You are paying for that bar and shield logo on their junk, not for quality. I also ditched the Harley oil filter for one from K&N, and I encourage you to do that as well. ... show more
