With so many unique designs to choose from, it was a difficult process to pick just one. It is always a mystery how the lighting and computer monitors may affect fabric colors. The design I selected was a subtle version of the popular birds and exotic florals, and appeared to me to be on a greyish-green background. In reality, the base color is more of a cross between beige and warm grey and creates a very restful mood. It is 100% cotton, and therefore has a bit of a slight rustic texture , coming right out of the dryer, which is fine with me. I like the ties at the inside corners which attach to the sewn-on loops on my duvet. My only "complaint" and it is minor, is that I wish the lining on the back blended with the background of the print better, because it makes the duvet look mismatched. Using a complimentary print on one side could also make the duvet cover reversible.

I purchased this duvet because the colors evoke a feeling of fall in me, and I’m a devotee of nihonga and other Japanese art aesthetics. Regarding the quality, it’s a mixed bag. Stitching is uneven in some spots and perfect in others. I appreciate the multiple ties inside the duvet, guaranteeing my blanket will not shift and get lumpy inside the duvet. The duvet has a zippered closure, which I love! Again, the stitching is sloppy at the zipper, but it is still quite sturdy and is hidden. The print is vibrant. But there is no consistency. Pillow covers have black-eyes birds, and the duvet has white-eyed birds. And those white-eyed birds? They’ve seen some things. Some very unpleasant things. All the aforementioned nitpicks about seams and whatnot have not diminished my love of this set. Those wild-eyed birds are my favorite detail, much to my own surprise. The white-eyed birds lend an air of Japanese scroll art to the design. Those birds are just as much at home in my bedroom as they would be in an ancient Japanese ghost scroll. I wasn’t looking to decorate my room in the fashion of a yurei-zu scroll, but that’s what I ended up with and I’m not even a tiny bit mad about it. I imagine that if the ghost of Oiwa had birds as her companions, they would look exactly like the ones on my duvet.

This product it excellent for the price. This is a Queen in the pictures and doesn't hang lower but that was fine for what I needed. I hung the duvet cover over my shower and steamed it almost completely wrinkle free. However, dumb me, I then added the Linenspa Comforter Duvet to the inside which wrinkled a bit. So note : but comforter inside PRIOR to steaming. The duvet cover connects via ties to a comforter., so make sure the inside comforter has the loops to tie into cover. ALSO, if you are loving my wallpaper like I am, it's also on Amazon and it Tempaper Peacock Blue and Metallic. Peel and stick, wasted a bit of the paper trying to match up the large print, but totally worth it. I feel like I am sleeping in a 1920s hotel or mansion.

This set feels and looks a little Neiman Marcus with a hint of Regular Show and a touch of vintage Mid Century Hollywood Glam. The gold is rich with a very slightly green hue to it without looking brassy and isn’t that gross loud yellow gold we have all seen. I’m not usually a fan of duvet covers but I’m stoked I broke my own rule. Rules are for fools; especially in this case! I will however, be using this as a bedspread, rather than cramming an unruly comforter in there, and it is totally luxurious enough to get away with as such. Buy it!

This bedding set is unique and very pretty. It feels very nice to sleep with too. Quality fabric though mine wasn’t as shiny looking as some of the reviews showed. It’s still satiny and soft. I actually was sold on this after reading the review about the birds looking as though “they had seen things”. My partner and I couldn’t stop laughing at the birds. We thought it would be great to have a nice bedding set with a hidden funny side. Alas our dreams were crushed when we received birds with normal eyes. Although the extra pillowcases I bought had one crazy eyed bird that made up for it. Pillowcases that came with the set were sewn wrong as other reviews have stated. You don’t see it under other pillows though. Would buy this set again.
