We enjoy entertaining often and my wife delights in setting a nice table. Attractive table linens, dishware, glassware and decor can really spruce up the look of a dining room. I saw this MIELEE linen tablecloth and thought it would go well in our house. The tablecloth measures 70" x 52". It fit our rectangular table well, though, we would have preferred if it hung over the edges a couple more inches. Made of both Linen (70%) and Cotton (30%), this is a nice-looking tablecloth. We chose the beige color because it is very natural looking, and you can dress it up or down to whatever your preference is. Beige works with all napkin, glassware and dishware colors. We have a craftsman style home, and this color looks very nice in our dining room. The edges of the tablecloth are stitched evenly, though, each corner has a few stray threads that need to be clipped. The linen/cotton material feels about medium in thickness. You cannot see through the cloth, but we will still use a table pad to protect the table from scratches and dings. We did test the tablecloth to see if it was waterproof as described. It indeed passed the water test. I dribbled water atop the cloth, it beaded up and did not seep into the material. A quick swipe with a kitchen towel and you would not even know that liquid was spilled. It is necessary to wash the tablecloth before use, as with each fold, there is a crease. We thought that we could iron out the wrinkles until we read the laundering instructions which stated we should not do so. Perhaps a steam iron set on low will do the trick. We are aware that linen wrinkles easily and were not expecting totally wrinkle-free material. This simple, attractive tablecloth will be put to use often in our home, as it seems to be well made and will enhance a casual get-together or fancy fete. Use this tablecloth no matter what decorative style your home is. It would look great in modern, traditional, mid-century modern, rustic and coastal style houses.

Was looking for a tablecloth to protect from spills & minor scratches during Thanksgiving. I was tempted to try to iron out the wrinkles it had from being folded, but it said to wash it first, so after I washed & dried it, I immediately put it over the table, smoothed out the top with my hands and it did the trick. I was pleasantly surprised with its thickness, it was not too thick or coated with anything, but it wasn't flimsy either- kind of falls in the middle, like a medium thickness I guess. Put some drops of water on it to see if it would immediately leak through, but it beaded up & I was able to wipe it up with no trace of a spill. But, I was right there with a towel, ready to wipe it- I am not sure how long a spill could be left there before it soaked through. I really like this, it seems well made. I would order more in different colors.
