These boots were purchased in February of 2021 and I have worn them a great deal. I teach preschool and spend most of the day on my feet and walking. I probably wore them at least 2-3 days/week each year from November thru April. I wear a size 3.5 and weigh approximately 110-120 lbs. The treads are still in fairly good shape as shown in the photo and there are no tears or cracks. I keep the elastic cord fastened and use only the Velcro closure get them on and off. I do not consider them "Hiking Boots" and I do not wear them if there is more than a light snow cover on the ground. Water will enter the fabric areas but my feet have never really gotten wet wearing them. I am currently interested in buying another pair in a different color but the newer reviews have me concerned that the quality has diminished.

These shoes are true to size. I bought them for a trip to Ireland. They are a great all weather shoe for dry and wet days. They also grip the ground to prevent slips and allow kids to climb. My son wears them to school on hot days and while his feet do get sweaty, they are still very comfortable for him. We plan to go skiing this winter and these should hold up great. I’ve washed them and they held up well. I will definitely keep buying this brand when he outgrows this size.

UPDATE: Just wanted to mention that my 8yr old daughter used these last summer (2022) since big brother grew out of them. She wore them to their nature camp again and also to the horse camp she goes to and they held up wonderfully. We've definitely gotten our money's worth with these. These are great. I got a pair for my 9yr old son for a nature type camp this summer. They hike several miles a day in the woods and on trails and they've held up very well so far. The soles are very sturdy and the toes are well protected. He's trekked through lots of mud without his socks becoming wet and a surprising amount of that mud sheds off of the boots by itself. He still takes forever tying his shoes so these not having actual laces was really helpful. It eliminates my concern of him stopping to tie them if they come untied and accidentally getting separated from his group. I thought they were a touch small but he says they feel great and you really don't want a loose hiking boot anyway. We've only had them a couple months now but as I said, they've been used a lot in some pretty rough circumstances. They're still in great shape and their cost is definitely reasonable. I'd recommend for sure.

The shoe itself is sturdy; my three year old loves his high tops and they’re still in great shape after 6 months of wear. My older kid is harder on shoes; in less than a month he somehow destroyed the elastic pull cord. The woven cover came off of it to expose the elastic underneath; the elastic is now broken. Next time he’s getting regular Velcro. But fortunately the shoe still works thanks to the top Velcro closure; plus I could just replace with either more paracord or regular shoelaces. I don’t think this is a product defect, this is probably just my destructor-child working his magic on yet another pair of shoes. These shoes were great for our Cub Scout campout; he did a three-mile hike in them with no issues. The toes are still in perfect shape and that’s the usual first casualty of his shoes. The insoles and the bottom are holding up well, too. For a month of wear on my high-energy kiddo, that’s a minor miracle. I highly recommend.
