Not our first Minka fan. We have found Minka fans to be consistently reliable. This particular model demonstrates very quiet operation and moves a lot of air. We love the design. These fans are very good. I had one at my previous house and liked it so much I purchased 2 for our new house. The installation is pretty easy. The only issue I had was a slight creaking at the base of one fan that was solved by adding washers under the bracket. It was most likely due to the box in the ceiling being a bit lower than the sheet rock. The controller is almost perfect with remote, Internet and optional wall control. Since the motor is DC, the speed control is silent, and unlike most fans, produces very little heat. ... show more

Installation was relatively easy, the instructions and the labeling on the wires and the connections were easy to follow and the whole installation took under 2 hours, including the time to disassamble and remove the old ceiling fan. The new fan looks great, the light is fairly bright and has a reasonable light temperature - not too cold, but not too soft either. The remote is already programmed and you won't need to reprogram it unless you have another Minka ceiling fan in your home that you want to control separately. Compared to my previous ceiling fan, this one needs to spin faster to deliver the same airflow, since it has 3 blades, compared to 5, and the blade angle is smaller. This is not an issue as this fan spins very fast when you use the highest setting (6), but it is a bit noisier, though it doesn't bother me much. All in all, this is a great looking fan and the materials and build are high quality. The blades are made of what seems like plastic, but it immitates wood pretty good, and reduces the weight and is more efficient, plus the blades will be much less prone to warping over time. The housing around the light is metal and the base is sturdy and leaves enough room to hide the wiring. ... show more

It may have been me, but this has been the most difficult fan install I have ever done. The control box did not want to fit causing a major headache. There are also a lot of wires to connect with connectors. The remote seems reliable but I am not a huge fan of the extra light button for a light that my fan does not have. The reverse direction button is located prominently in the bottom middle of the speed controls which may be hit accidentally. Now on to the good, the noise levels are superb and the airflow is impressive. The smart controls are well thought out. I appreciate that in the app, the fan can choose to remember the last used light and speed setting when turning on and off via the switch, or default to a certain setting if desired.     • False Advertising, very limited smarts, no ecobee integration

This fan was easy enough to put up, about 2 hours. It looks alright and it is very quiet. However, this fan is barely smart. The listing and the sellers stickers on the box all day it works with Ecobee. It does not work with Ecobee. It barely works with Alexa. The bond app is nice, but there is almost no way to integrate this fan into your smart home. The best Alexa can do is turn the fan off and on and adjust the fan speed. The Bond app makes no mention of Ecobee, it lists SmartThings, Google Home, and Alexa. From within the Alexa app you can adjust the speed or turn the fan off/on. There is a slider called “breeze” but it does nothing. The only reason I bought this fan is to integrate it with Ecobee or at least set up a routine in Alexa to solve a specific problem. All it had to do was turn on when Ecobee was in heating mode, switch to winter mode, and then turn off when Ecobee turns the furnace off. Nope. This fan has nothing to do with Ecobee at all. For anyone expecting this fan to do anything beyond off/on via “smart” skills, do not buy this. ... show more

I absolutely love this fan! It's sleek and classy looking. Just the right brass color. It's very quiet yet moves some serious air on top speed. It got so cold, we had to turn it down to a 3 speed. LOL. Remote control is attractive as well. I am very happy with my purchase. Buy this fan!

This fan is great! I love that it has 6 speeds vs. the usual 3-4. It's great in my bedroom on the low speeds while sleeping-Keeps the air moving without blasting air on you. It is also VERY quiet (especially at low speeds). On higher speeds all you hear is the rush of air. The fan I replaced had a pronounced electrical buzz-Very annoying. The remote it comes with works great and fully controls all functions of the fan and light. As an added bonus this fan is compatible with smart home controllers. I use Alexa and this fan works very well with voice control. It uses Bond technology which costs $100 to add to a "dumb" fan. Alexa can turn the fan on, off, select speed and direction-Great in the middle of the night if you want the to adjust the fan. Alexa also can turn the light on, off and adjust brightness. I've had the fan installed for over a month and it works flawlessly. I'm not the most handy guy, but I installed it myself. Installation was fairly straight forward with no surprises. I also bought the wall switch which offers full control of all functions direct from the wall switch. It's a nice to have, but honestly with the full function remote it isn't really required-a simple on off switch will do if you don't mind using the included remote. If you utilize the built in voice control via Alexa or a compatible smart home assistant, the wall control is even less necessary. I find myself using the voice control over 90% of the time because it works so well. There are cheaper fans for sure, but this one is worth the money and has all the features. Once you have 6 speeds you will wonder why every fan doesn't offer this feature. I recently bought a second one of these for my home office. Definitely recommended! ... show more
