Features

  • Mutiple input/output interfaces: with 3.5mm AUX/stereo RCA/5-DIN inputs and stereo RCA/5-DIN outputs, can be compatible with most low-volume audio sources such as ipod, ipad, phone, TV, MP3 player, potable CD player, computer, video game etc., and boost their output to the level needed to drive amplifier or speakers.
  • With built-in amplification and voltage boost circuit: adjustable gain to match better with different audio sources, support DC 5-24V wide input voltage that can share the power supply of amplifiers, while L1 can always work at a high voltage of 26V to provide 12.5V high output amplitude and max 20dB high gain.
  • Unique design and HiFi clear sound: double-side PCB design, NE5532P op amp with pluggable socket design, convenient to change other op amps to enjoy different sound and bring much DIY fun for audiophiles. High-qaulity sealed potentiometer, with wide frequency bandwidth and excellent dynamic response, the sound is smooth and natural, warm and delicate with ultra-low distortion.
  • Mini size with exquisite appearance, compact and all-metal design for durability and shielding the electronics from electromagnetic interference with noise rejection. • The sound is great.
This preamp does exactly what it says it will and it sounds amazing. I am easily able to set my gain structure and this little dude helps me get the input level to where it needs to be when it hits my amps input. I've used it a couple times with a pair of Sony WH- 1000XM4 headphones and it sounded great. Next I am going to try it in my car right after the head unit and see how it does when feeding a jbl stadium 4 with 4 jbl 962M 6x9s on the outputs. The only negative mark I can give is that the inputs and outputs are not on the sife of the unit. I prefer hiding the wires but cannot with this preamp. Other than that small issue, it is perfect. Now if they could make one with 8 inputs, seperate volume controls and a digital display showing the power being pushed through it, then it would be even better. ... show more

  • Does the job - be careful not to overdrive
It does what it says - boosts the line output. I use it bring the output of my Korg synthesizer closer to line level. Be careful though, it does seem to overdrive my receiver at the highest level setting. I suppose it could burn out the receiver input although I'm unsure of that. Also, at the bottom of the knob setting (min) it clicks off so nothing goes through. What would've been nice is if this "off" setting just acted as a pass-through so I could get a reference level. All in all though, it's a good, inexpensive way to boost inputs to my receiver. ... show more

  • Fixes MX49/61 Synth Wimpy Output !!!
If you own an Yamaha MX49 or MX61 synth, then you know how wimpy the output levels are. Yamaha bumped up the output in the newest firmware, v1.01, by 6db. I have this version (see pic), but the levels are still so wimpy that a decent output level is only attainable by cranking the synth's volume knob, and the mixer's gain and all EQs to max. This is simply not acceptable, and it shocks me that Yamaha would release a product with such an issue. The fix = Douk line level preamp :: I connect the MX49's stereo outs to "Priority IN" using a shorty dual 1/4" TS (mono) to stereo 3.5mm (TRS) cable ... then ... connect "To Amp" RCA outputs to a stereo line level channel on the mixer via stereo RCA to dual 1/4" TS (mono) cable. I set the Douk volume knob to MAX. This affords adequate levels with overall sane settings :: synth's volume knob = 50%, mixer gain = 50%, all EQs = 0db. The sonic properties are great! All the synth voices sound every bit as good! Powering the Douk preamp is a little weird. It states "5 - 24V", but that CANNOT true. I initially used a 19V PC supply and the preamp went into some bizarre flashing mode and sent popping spikes to the board. Now I'm using a "smart" USB wall wart that can deliver 5-15 Volts at 2.4 Amps. Operation is perfect. ... show more

  • well its got gain but not for a turntable
i took a chance on getting this to hook a vintage garard turntable to a cambridge axa35 as the phono stage isnt compatible. going from the turntable to an aux and turned the gain to max, still really thin sounding. so will have to run it thru my vintage rotel. the volume chance from min to max isnt that much. ... show more

  • It's a good product for what it's meant to do
I'm including a photo to show the size comparison with my hand. This is a pretty small device that fits really well behind my CD player. It honestly sounds great, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do, which is why I'm giving it a 5-star rating. Here are my two minor complaints: --The power cord provided is pretty short (about 3 feet) which means you need to put it pretty close to an outlet. It also doesn't come with a wall adapter so I had to sacrifice one of my other wall adapters. --When I switch between my record player (using the 3.5 mm input) and my CD player (using the RCA input), the device recognizes that the 3.5 mm is being used and it always defaults to that input. It can't handle two inputs (3.5 mm and RCA) at the same time. So that means that in order to listen to my CD player (RCA), I need to unplug the record player (3.5 mm) first. It's a minor inconvenience, but I can live with it. Other than that, I love the product! ... show more

  • Didn't Work With High Power Smart Charger
I'm using the amplifier to connect the second tape out of my Heathkit preamplifier to an Amazon Echo Link line input. The tape monitor outputs are passive; they are the outputs of input selector system. The Echo Link seems to load down some of the sources. The setup works well. One thing, when I first connected everything, nothing worked. The amplifier was a nightlight that did nothing but produce a noticeable hum in the output. Adjusting gain controll didn't do anything. I had connected the USB power cable to a spare port on a high power smart charger. Finally, I rummaged around and found an old 5V 1A dumb charger. After switching to it, everything suddenly worked. At least I didn't damage snything. ... show more

  • Kind of works, maybe
I bought this specifically to boost the output from my AV receiver to a Monolith 16 subwoofer. For some odd reason, I was getting less output from the sub than my previous 10". Unfortunately my AVR doesn't have XLR output, so I couldn't try that and didn't want the gain maxed out on both AVR and the Sub. This sounded like a perfect bandaid to boost the incoming signal. It DOES do that, a little. But unfortunately not significantly and I noticed the bass not sounding as clean. If it had a larger increase, I'd for sure keep it, but it seems to fall just short. I've been playing around with different Dirac Live settings and calibrations with the Onkyo TX-RZ50, but am not satisfied. Fingers crossed I'm within my return period, because it takes a lot of time to try and dial things in :(. ... show more
