  • A valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their mental and physical well-being.
Mind Medicine is a comprehensive guide to using mindfulness practices to find healing, joy and peace in your life. Dr. Jordan Burns shares his expertise on the mind-body connection to help readers tap into the innate ability of their subconscious mind to find relief from pain, stress, and anxiety. The book is divided into parts, each addressing a specific aspect of mindfulness practices, some including: the subconscious mind, breathwork, ego, gratitude and meditation. Dr. Burns starts by explaining the role of the subconscious mind and awareness in our everyday lives and how it can be used to improve our physical and mental well-being. He then dives into the power of breathwork and its ability to calm the mind and release tension from the body along with guidance on meditation techniques to further cultivate a sense of peace and presence. What sets this book apart from other mindfulness guides is Dr. Burns' use of practical exercises to help readers implement the concepts into their daily lives. The exercises range from simple breathing techniques to more advanced meditation practices and are designed to be easily integrated into any routine. “Mind Medicine for Pain Relief, Stress, and Anxiety" is a valuable resource for anyone looking to improve their mental and physical health through mindfulness practices. Dr. Burns' approach is accessible, practical, and grounded in scientific research, making it a must-read for anyone interested in the power of the mind-body connection. I highly recommend and cannot wait to share with friends! ... show more

  • Excellent Book on Natural Healing
This book is well thought out and researched and is wonderful to use especially if you prefer to avoid putting harmful medicines into your body. Dr. Burns does need to employ a good copy editor to correct the grammatical errors, but other than that, it is extremely well written. I especially enjoyed his sections on meditation, thankfulness and breathing techniques and, being one who is allergic to most medications, am trying to apply these sections to the relief of my chronic pain. I have not been working on it for long, but am seeing relief already. Being an older, Conservative Christian lady, I find a bit more New Age ideas than I like, but they are easily adapted to my Christian beliefs. He adapts old Eastern beliefs and practices into modern Western uses that are interesting and relaxing to do (though he can keep his cold showers for the younger set). I like how he presents an idea, then breaks it down into practical use as in how it can be used for anxiety, stress, and pain. Dr. Burns is a brilliant young author, and I so look forward to reading more of his works and seeing how his books develop as he ages. I recommend this book to everyone who wants to better their lives in a natural, holistic way. way to go, Dr. Burns. ... show more

  • Effective & Lasting Knowledge
Sometimes it feels like a book comes into your life at a moment when you are unknowingly in need of it. Being in the middle of winter and after the holiday season, it's natural for me to sink into a depressive state. The hardest part for me personally is trying to figure out how to lift myself out of it. The information & methods provided in Dr. Burns's book served as both an introduction to new tools (e.g. grounding) and as a reminder for the habits I have let slip over time & need to bring them back into my daily routine (e.g. meditation & breathwork). Getting back into meditating has already shown to improve my mindset this past week, and I'm thankful that this book motivated me to reintroduce myself to it. I'm aware it's cliché to say "this book is meant for anyone" but it's simply the truth. If you're seeking new ways to cope with anxiety & stress that are already available to you, this book is meant for you. If you're someone who already practices the habits & techniques in this book, I'm certain you'll learn something you didn't know and/or reaffirm why you're already practicing these skills. ... show more

  • Beyond needed
First I am so proud of Jordan! This book was so inspiring and helpful! It really solidifies the scripture “if a man think it, so is he.” As someone who can be a negative thinker - I really needed this reminder that the mind is so powerful and everything starts with just a simple thought. The stories are very admirable. You’ll gain great insight on how the subconscious mind works and the role it plays in your daily life and choices. The subconscious mind segment was one of my favorites! I legit learned something new each time I read a page. Both my mom and I have already started implementing the tips and techniques shared, in our lives. Definitely worth the read! Side note- I’m not much of a reader unfortunately so for a book to grab and KEEP my interest spoke volumes to me. Throughout the day I’ll even re-read a couple pages just for a “pick me up.” The value this book holds can’t be put into words! I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great read, give it a try and you will be glad you did!!!
I believe I am still early on in my personal development phase of life and I am so glad I read this book when I did. The title "Mind Medicine For Pain Relief Stress & Anxiety" is fitting for the book but there are so many other valuable practices within. My favorite is Chapter 7, Positive Affirmations. I love the concept of focusing on positive over the negative. Most of us focus on the negatives that we do not like in our life. Focusing on the opposite positive aspect can not only impact our immediate mood but help drive us to the desired solution. Powerful stuff. I also appreciated all the real life examples and action steps Dr. Burns provided in the book. You know he practices what he preaches. "What We Give Energy To, We Give Life To" ... show more
