I purchased this after reading up on ways to clean aeroponic growing systems. I dissolved about 2 cups of this into 20 gallons of water and submerged all the pieces into it and WOW! This product cleaned off ALL the mineral buildup and plant sludge from the garden in about and hour. All I had to do was pick out the pieces, rinse off, and wipe dry and it was like new! I mainly purchased the citric acid to clean the rust/mineral build up in my toilet tank. I had watched a YouTube video that demonstrated cleaning with citric acid and seem to work great. In the past I had tried pouring vinegar and letting it sit for several hours but that did nothing for the tank but it was great to get rid of a stubborn ring in the toilet. I took 1 cup of the citric acid and dissolved it in bowl of warm water. I flushed the toilet and as the tank was filling I poured the citric acid water solution in it. I poured more tap water so that the water level was little above the mineral/rust line in the tank. I took a sponge to wet area above the water line and then let it sit for at least 1 hour. After 1 hour the toilet tank water was murky from mineral rust break down in the tank. I took old tooth brush and lightly brushes mineral/rust at water level and around the flush valve. I flushed the tank and it looked brand new. Very impressed. The YouTuber steps were to shut off water after flushing the toilet. Then take a bucket of hot water and pour 1 cup citric acid powder and mix. I guess someone did that and their toilet tank cracked because of the HOT water. Others suggested no need to shut water and just use water as it fills or use warm and not hot water. Very happy with this product. Product arrived with no damage or leakage of powder. ... show more

There are many uses for this product but i used it to clean years of hard water scum off my shower head. I put several tablespoons w/water into a small bucket with the shower head completely covered. I had forgotten about it for a couple hours. When i remembered and looked at it, it looked brand new!!! I did have to use a soft cloth to remove what was left (it was softened and easily wiped off). After a full rinse of it afterward, once installed, my shower head works literally like brand new!! I'll be using this to clean my washing machine as well since I'm not a fan of chemicals and read reviews about affresh causing serious long term skin ailments.
