Description

The GlueMate450 by Milescraft is the perfect glue accessory for everyone. From master craftsmen to first time DIY’ers, this 15oz. advanced glue bottle makes for quick and accurate application. The large size holds enough glue to be your everyday go-to gluing solution. The secret is the two-chamber design. When pressure is applied the glue is sent from the bottom of the storage chamber up through the smaller application chamber. This allows you to control the flow and deliver just the amount of glue you need. It even allows for vertical application – You can put glue anywhere, and at any angle! Included with the GlueMate450 are 2 different application tips. A fine point cone applicator allows you to lay down a fine bead of glue on narrow boards or in dowel holes or other joints. The flat biscuit applicator tip has a wide profile making it great for biscuit joint, or just spreading a wider bead of glue on bigger boards.

I have had a GlueBot for a while now and wasn't happy with it's cleanliness. The main lid on it never sealed quite right, and it leaked a bit up at the tip. This one on the other hand has stayed absolutely perfectly clean and seals way better, so that glue is actually dispensed properly when you squeeze it, instead of just releasing air out of the lid. but i needed it an it works well no unclogging the tip easy squeeze one hand not a lot of wasted glue and bargain for the price. i do wish it had a holder for the cap. i made one but it could use one cuz i lost the cap in the mix a few times

I use these in my woodshop. They work well and are easier to use than a 1-gallon jug. They don't seem to be as airtight as I would like, so I don't leave glue in them for extended periods of time. I like that they have 2 different tips

Not only does it make application of contact cement so much easier than apply directly from the can. But I've learned that thinning the cement with the appropriate thinner makes application easier as well. So I need that separate container anyway - fill it 2/3 with cement and 1/3 thinner and shake. But you still need a way to handle the brush. So unless you want to be using a new brush for each session, you need to figure out a convenient way to store the brush in a bit of thinner between uses. A small jar of Elmer's Contact Cement comes with a brush inside. It is an easy and inexpensive way to solve that problem – dump or store the Elmer's and replace it with thinner. Haven't found a glue bottle without issues. The pro for this one is that it seals well without need for gasket which can be miserable to deal with each time a refill is needed. The con is that unless you meticulously clean the tip after use, pliers are needed to detach it the next time you use it. I'm back to using a recycled mustard dispenser. To me it's better than a glu bot, but still second to mustard dispenser. ... show more
