It is a wonderful green color, color is the same as pictures (sage green). However, I have two cats that like to sleep at me and they also tend to tug on the bed sheets. I'm a beginning at purchasing bedsheets and did not realize how easy it was for my cats to really rip out the microfiber. Now, my duvet cover is just threads sticking out everywhere. Out of packaging, it didn't smell and it fits my duvet just right. It's not too thick. I want to say it's worth my money but not after my cats scratched it up. The title is accurate: it is soo soft! I've loved this duvet cover. My only negative is the zipper closure - the zipper does easily show and because of this doesn't look as high quality looking as other more expensive brands that use buttons. But at last for me, that's minor compared to the price and comfort! I've had this for a few months now and it has held up through multiple washes. The color is also very pretty and as pictured.
