We use a duvet on top of a country quilt & top sheet when it's cool or cold - for us, that's late Sep - early May. We also have duvets for the rest of the family. With other duvet covers, I've had three main problems: most don't come with inside corner ties to attach to the duvet, most are either button closure (terrible!) or snap (slightly better), and all show dirt and pet fur. Incredibly frustrating - even with using safety pins to attach the duvet cover to the duvet corners or the super magnets available here for the same purpose. I hadn't considered microfiber until I bought one of these for one of our college-bound kids. After seeing how that one held up all year, I decided to try one for us, and got it in a dusky grayish mid-tone blue - it's a beautiful color, slightly faded (by design). 1. Microfiber + dirt & pet hair? YES! Truly, the only option if you have pets since fur gets everywhere even when pets sleep elsewhere. I've had to wash the duvet cover once in 4-5 months (nothing hides drips of coffee). It washed well - I can't speak to drying as I line-dry most things especially large items like this. It dried quickly and came out just as soft. I washed it regular cycle with other laundry, no fabric softener. 2. Internal ties - why doesn't every duvet have them? A small thing, but it works well to keep the duvet in place. I have to shake it out twice a month or so to even out the duvet within the cover, but it's a quick shake because of the ties. THANK YOU!!! I'll never buy a cover again that doesn't have them. 3. Zipper closure - very nice. The bottom closes entirely - no gaps, no snaps to come undone, buttons to pop off, or button holes that loosen over time. One caveat - the placard seam over the zipper isn't wide enough, so it tends to stay "flipped" up, showing the zipper. Annoying, and that would be enough for me to choose another cover IF other microfiber covers had zippers & internal ties and a wider placard. They don't seem to, and with the price of this so low, I can live with it. It just means that the zippered end has to be tucked down at the foot of the bed for aesthetics and comfort. I love the comfort, color, durability, value, and features. The minor issue with hiding the (white) zipper is small considering the excellent value and overall plusses. I plan to replace all of our other duvet covers with these.

Original review: I have come to hate this duvet cover with an almost irrational passion. Is that dramatic? Maybe. But I’ve spent months now trying to make this thing work, and I just can’t. I surrender. Pros: It’s soft… at first. Delightfully so. That’s the only reason I’ve been trying to make this work for so long. It feels great out of the package & even better after the first wash. Cons: 1. Bunching. God help you if you toss & turn a lot, because the fabric will practically stick to you as you move. I’m highly sensitive to sensations and the way fabric feels, and this feels like loose skin. There’s no other way to describe it. It’s horrible. It’s confusing how something so soft can stick to you like this. Sure, it’s supposed to give a little as you move, but a huge section clinging to you with each movement? No. It’s the main reason I hate the duvet cover. 2. It will not stay in place. I have had 2 duvet covers before this one, both cotton, and they have always been fine. They shift a little but I’ve never even needed to tie them to the comforter. Not this one! This duvet cover absolutely refuses to stay put. I have 8 duvet pins on it and that finally stopped some of the slipping, but that horrible sensation from con #1 remains. I even bought a new comforter perfectly matching this duvet in size, thinking maybe mine was too small, but that didn’t help. What a waste of money. 3. It’s hot. HOT. it heats up so quickly. With the bunching, loose skin sensation, and heat, I don’t get good sleep with this thing. I surrender. You do you, but I would not recommend you get this if you are sensitive to fabric textures.

I would leave more stars, but when I opened the package, I noticed a mark on 1 of the shams, I thought it would wash out - Nope. I don't want to return the whole set. I sewed extra attachments to the middle edge of the duvet and the duvet cover, to keep it from slipping around. So the only problem is the mark on the sham. I think it is a great value for the price.

It’s so soft I absolutely love this set. The only bad thing I would say is that the queen size duvet cover is short for a queen. If you have a very low or thin mattress (like 2” or less) then it would be fine but realistically, no queen mattresses are that thin. The duvet cover barely covers the sides of my bed.
