  • MIKUNI HSR 42 CARBURETOR
This is probably one of the best carbs on the market. I have run this unit for the last 15 years and the reason I just didn't rebuilt it, was because I wanted a brand new shiny, right out of the box carb for my '88 Electraglide Sport. I recommend this carb over the stock and S&S carburetors hands down. Just pop it on, warm up the engine, set the idle to about 2 grand, ease the air fuel mix screw in and listen for the engine idle to drop, turn it out and do the same while counting the turns and turn it back in half way. Ride the bike at highway speedsfor a bit then, pull the plugs and look at the color of the anode and cathode of the spark plugs. If it's white, Turn the mixture screw out, black turn it in and Tan, leave it alone and your off! You can set this carb on the road. It's that easy. It also has an idle adjuster hanging down by the rear jug so you can adjust the idle as necessary. I rate the Mikuni HSR 42 Carburetor a full five stars! Happy Riding! ... show more

  • Great replacement
I replaced an mikuni carb that was 25 years old with this product. Seems to be working great and fully functional and installation was simple. Although only issue is the bottom screws of the bowl is a pain to get out and not strip the heads.

  • I needed a adapter so the air filter would bolt on
Carb performance is awesome right out of the box for my 96 Harley Bad Boy.

  • Hot little carb
Like others said packaging wasn’t the greatest but the carb works. Having problems with the stock cv on my 04 EG twincam I decided to go a different route. I had to do a few extra steps like filing down two jug fins and tear down the bike rather than just swapping carbs but I also replaced the intake seals. I’m still working out bugs and fine tuning it but it really woke it up. Idk what jet’s others are running but I’m 27.5 and 175. The jets that came created a dead spot at wot. I’m still getting to trust bike but it did puke fuel twice while sitting a few minutes after a ride. Could be something I did with the install I guess. My fuel mileage went up like crazy. I was getting 125 to a tank. Now I fill up around 115 and still have about 2gal left. It is touchy throttle wise but once you get used to it you’ll appreciate the extra power to climb the hills or roll on pass without downshifting ... show more

  • Packaging was poor. Carb works great though !
Haven't installed it yet but looking at the packing I hope it's not damaged internally, external looks ok though. I would think it should be wrapped in bubble wrap to survive shipping. The depth of the box was too small also, the carb was touching the cardboard, not good. Shipping was fast. Will further review after installation. Added 6 Dec. -- Carb installed, worked right off the bat ! Very happy with the product. I had purchased one of the Chinese knock off carbs and spent 3 weeks trying to get it jetted to no avail. OEM Mikuni is the way to go, save yourself some headache . Highly recommended ! ... show more
