Doesn't work. I should have paid attention to reviews. Very strong peppermint smell mixed with DE powder. Rats laughed at me when I sprinkled it around the coop. In reading the instructions, the package ask for additional things to be done, such as take up pet food and block rat entrances, things that could help without the use of this. Now I have peppermint DE all over the coop with rat footprints in them. I'm hoping others had better luck. I'll keep using the baking soda mixed with cornbread.

We have had a rodent issue with the rental home we currently are in. It started with two mice but eventually progressed to rats (insert PANIC!). After pest control services and no resolution, I decided to try and take things into my own hands. I ordered this after seeing great reviews and was optimistic after the ease of applying this to those frequented areas. Initially, we saw a decrease in activity as if the rodents were actively avoiding the peppermint as we'd hoped, however I think the potency wore off quickly. Activity began to increase and we started finding trails of the dust. We are back to the drawing board and currently have two new pest control companies trying to figure this out.

I was looking for an organic, pet safe product to use in my yard. I have a night vision camera set up to monitor a family of rabbits that have lived in my yard for over a year (in addition to a clunky old opossum and other wildlife), but recently I have been seeing a large, and very unwelcome rat visit the yard every night. I knew I needed to find a rat repellent - and quick - that wouldn't hurt any other wildlife, so I figured I'd give this DE with peppermint a try. I knew it ran the risk of repelling the rabbits as well, but I had to take my chances - I was not up for a rat infestation. The item arrived in 2 days, I sprinkled it like powdered sugar all over the area of the yard where the rat seems to be active. Since putting it down there has been absolutely no rat activity. It has not scared off the rabbits, which I am rather please about. The old opossum doesn't linger in the area where I spread it, but it hasn't stopped him from passing thru either. All in all, it's keeping away the right pests for my particular scenario. I'm super grateful to have found something that works so quickly and so well. I recommend for anyone dealing with a similar scenario.

The scent is not bad. Less toxic option for people & pets. I will continue to use in my basement. I had a rat living under my back stairs, too close to my basement for me. I wanted to get him out of there without killing him to seal up the cracks against the house so he can't get back under there & make his way into my house. Mission accomplished. I see him on my Ring camera. I put some peppermint mothballs under there first. Still living there. He moved out the day I put this down. He comes after dusk to eat the bird food they didn't finish & I see him run the other direction past the back of my house. Glad to see he moved somewhere else. My stairs are sealed off now. I have no problem with any animals living outside - it's their land, but I don't want uninvited guests coming into my house. I had to replace my sewer & drain pipes. They've been digging up the nearby streets for months. It's created a real problem but this product seems to keep them at bay..
