  • GMRS: The GMRS channels used by the 15-Watt MicroMobile(R) walkie-talkie are licensed by the FCC for personal and business use. These channels have a range up to several miles, depending on terrain, weather conditions, and obstacles. While a 40-mile range may be possible under ideal conditions, it's important to consider terrain and other factors that can affect the range of the radio in use. For best communication, test the range of your radio where you plan to use it.
  • Privacy Codes: The 142 CTCSS/DCS privacy codes of the MicroMobile walkie talkie allow you to select a specific code to use with a particular channel, which helps to prevent unwanted transmissions from being heard on the same channel. This provides a level of privacy and security for your communications, especially in crowded areas where multiple radios may be in use. Use silent operation to turn off all tone.
  • NOAA Weather Scan + Alert: NOAA Weather Scan will automatically scan through 10 available weather (WX) band channels and locks onto the strongest weather channel to alert you of severe weather updates. NOAA Weather Alert will sound an alarm indicating that there is a risk of severe weather in your area. NOAA Weather Radio will also be used to broadcast AMBER alerts for missing children.

    • Excellent coverage
I hooked this up at a cabin in the Rockies and my wife and I were able to communicate on channel 15 (one of the "high power" channels) via a handheld Midland radio on my end while I was climbing a mountain some 10 miles away. And that was just using the little stubby antenna that's included; next year I might upgrade that piece. Obviously when I was higher up on the mountain and our connection was more "line of sight", things were clearer. Still, it exceeded my expectations. The menu functions are a little awkward to get through (definitely need to reference the manual), but that's to be expected with something as minimalistic as this thing.     • Good radio, missing items in box
The radio works as it should, easy to setup. But I noticed the box it came in had previously been opened and it was missing the little antenna, instructions and the mounting hardware. With the ghost antenna, I was transmitting and receiving clearly at about 6 miles in rural Iowa.

awesome radio, goes forever in woods or land. installed into my CFMOTO U800 with small antena and then paired with Midland walkies and easily go 5 miles in heavy wooded areas, out to 60 miles on land! loud and clear sound! buy it you won't regret it...

We had been running a Cobra CB radio paired with a Firestik antenna and always was disappointed with quality consistency with that setup. We did some digging and dedcided to give Midland a go and boy are glad we did! Install was a breeze due to overall size of the unit and mounting hardware. Love the fact that there’s virtually no tuning required and performance is great. Mic volume level is superior and illumination makes seeing display a breeze. We use these radios heavily on our farm. They have helped us tremendously by being able to communicate more effortlessly. The radios are extremely reliable and very easy to install and setup.     • Cheap and not worth the money
Not a fan nor would I buy another sticking with real xb radios and analog meters n such two diff digital radios and brands and both have crapped out in first cpl months better sticking with old school brands and styles just my experience with this radio hasn't Ben pleasant
