I should have checked both boxes of shutters (I ordered two sets of two) when the shutters were first delivered. I checked one box and everything looked good. Unfortunately, when I opened the second box when it was time for installation, one of the shutters was cracked, the corrugated shipping container was damaged, thus resulting in the crack. Regardless, since I am going into knee surgery very soon, I just didn't want one of the windows to have shutters, and the other without shutters if I waited for a replacement pair. I would be out of action for 3 months following surgery. Consequently, I repaired the crack by using very heavy duty tape on the backside of the shutter where the crack was, You can hardly tell there is a crack, but there is a crack regardless. Mounting the shutters was relatively easy, as the shutters are lightweight and easy to handle and position. I used the 1/4 inch plastic mounting pins, instead of the supplied screws. I drilled 1/4 holes into brick and mortar using ordinary drills, and was able to tap the plastic mounting pins into the side of the house using a light hammer. I have to admit, the shutters look great, and like I said, were easy to install. But the crack had me down rate the overall rating from 5 stars to 4 stars. I will know better next time to open all packages upon receipt to check for damage. Again, my upcoming knee surgery convinced me to mount the shutters despite the crack.     • Very Inferior and Disappointing Product
I ordered 6 pairs of shutters that were delivered last night and returned promptly this morning. I have purchased from this company before and was simply trying to replace my shutters that had faded from the Texas sun. I expected the same product we received about 10 years ago. These shutters were just AWFUL. Each shutter should have 3 holes (top, middle and bottom) to affix to the brick wall, but the shutters we received had no bottom holes drilled. Thus, the shutters would either warp away from the wall at the bottom or flap in the wind. Also, these shutters had no standardized drilling...each shutter was different from the others. It seemed they just drilled the holes wherever they felt like. This would drive the installer nuts PLUS they do not match the standardized holes from the existing shutters MEANING the new installation could not use the existing holes in the brick. And finally, these shutters were USED...something I did not notice when I purchased them. Seriously? Who sells USED shutters? It never occurred to me that these would be anything other than new. They were dusty with a white dust and would need to be thoroughly cleaned prior to installation. Plus, all of the rivets were twisted and ruined from being removed from whereever they were installed prior to selling them to me. Overall, this was just about one of the most horrible products I have ever purchased on amazon, and Mid-America should be shamed to sell a product like this. ... show more

I ordered 6 sets of shutters, when they arrived, they were bound together which was fine. My problem is that every single box is open on the top and bottom and all of the mounting screws are missing. I have sent a message and am waiting to hear back. I will rate them once I have the screws to mount them. ... show more

Got good remarks when people see those on our house brick wall. pretty much of a no brainer installation, and good looking. Can't tell how long th ey will look good and last, but so far, over half year and they still look good and are in place.
