  • Good tool
Size: 1/4 in Number of Items: 1
The durability on this bit is good. It was used for quite a bit. It never broke and it was quick and sharp for what it was used for. It is a really good value.

  • Tough endmill
Size: 1/4 in Number of Items: 1
I keep cautioning about knowing your speeds/feeds with flute count and it's the same for these. The AlTiN coating seems to be holding up well and preventing any excess wear and build-up, but the moment it does wear, it wears fast and you may as well chuck it, or get it re-dipped/re-coated. It's been tough though and held up well until the coating wore. ... show more

  • Works well in my CNC bridgeport
Size: 1/4 in Number of Items: 1
I got this to use in my Series I CNC Bridgeport. It's been working really well in mild steel with flood coolant. I do almost everything with trochoidal milling with a helical entry, which I find so much less stressful than doing a straight down plunge and then going full bore down the middle of something. I don't run super aggressively, I will typically run my spindle RPM at 1000, and my feed rate around 4 IPM, and my trochoidal pattern takes off 0.030" per pass. it takes a while, but I don't care, I get a super great finish, no chatter at all, and my tools last WAY longer. This one has been performing quite well. The 50 degree helix angle is nice because on most jobs the next tooth is well engaged before the previous tool leaves the cut, so it helps prevent chatter that you can get if you have thin material and there is a gap between teeth where no tooth is touching the material. I've got a bunch of carbide cutting tools, some have coatings some don't, I'm not convinced the coating adds much life to the tool, and I completely disagree with those who say that as soon as the coating wears out the tool is useless... the carbide itself is quite hard and if you don't abuse it it will last LONG after the coating on the very sharp leading edge has worn off, and that happens pretty quick. If you are aggressively plowing right though the middle of things without any coolant and overheating your cutting tool and beating it to death with chatter, you are going to destroy it quickly and no coating is going to help you. If you want to really get long tool life, learn how to to trochoidal milling! Overall I am very happy with this cutting tool. It is dimensionally accurate and it cuts really nicely, and so far it has ben lasting quite well. ... show more

  • Cleanly ground solid carbide mills, good surface finish on cuts
Size: 1/8" 3/16" 1/4" 3/8" Number of Items: 4
Nicely ground carbide mills, very sharp and no balance issues even at 10k rpm although I'm generally running them significantly slower cutting cast iron and stainless. Good value for a set of 4 and so far they're lasting well if I don't make any dumb mistakes.

  • Great option for mini mills
Size: 1/8" 3/16" 1/4" 3/8" Number of Items: 4
I have a small, inexpensive mini-mill, which I use occasionally for projects. Usually it's 6061 aluminium, but also some mild steel. I have used these for aluminum several times now, and I'm happy with the results. I haven't broken any of them yet, and they're still sharp. They provide a nice finish, and are able to do pretty aggressive cuts. I'm not an expert with milling, and i don't do a ton of it, but these have worked well for me so far. ... show more

  • Great Carbide Milling Bit
Size: 1/4 in Number of Items: 1
Great Carbide Milling Bit, sharp, looks nice, and precise. Also, shipping was very fast. I would generally prefer to buy american-made bits, but this isn't a bad value.

  • Sharp
Size: 1/8" 3/16" 1/4" 3/8" Number of Items: 4
I got these because of the variety pack and the carbide. They appear to be pretty tough so far. I used the bigger bit to cut several channels into 3/8 mild steel and it worked perfectly. I haven't put these through a torture test and don't really plan to yet. My goal is to limit these to mild steel and keep them fresh. I think they are more than capable. All in all I'm very happy with them. ... show more

  • Works well in my 3018
Size: 1/4 in Number of Items: 1
I have a low powered mill, so actually attempting to cut steel is out of the question, but this bit has done a good job with the toughest materials I've thrown at it. The chip clearance is good and I have no complaints about the sharpness.
