I still use this thing all the time when downloading stuff to my microsd cards and it works without a hitch. I am slightly careful with it, making sure I don't put it in or out the ports recklessly. That's because I can feel the plastic bend slightly if I give it a gripping. But it works great for me still, so I recommend it!

This is a compact, easy, and versatile memory card reader. The OTG support, regular and micro USB connectors, and support for full size SD and micros SD cards are a great value for the price. Be aware, the maximum read and write transfer speeds supported by this reader appear to be capped at ~15MB/s (sometimes the write creeps up to 18, but not very often). This is regardless of the rated speed of the card itself (assuming it's faster than 15MB/s). The limit is reached consistently and stays constant during transfer, so I don't have reliability concerns. But with all the new, super fast, large capacity, 80+MB/s rated microSD cards out there don't think this reader will take advantage of any of those speed advancements when you decide to transfer your entire 4k movie collection to your phone for vacation. For some perspective, I've got a 12 year old memory card reader (that has a mini USB connection!), which is actually faster and tops out at 20MB/s read and write. Granted, it was a much more expensive piece of kit back in the day, and none of the cards at that time even approached those speeds (let alone sizes). This one is much cheaper, newer, and tops out just under the older one in terms of speed, and is much more compact. So in summary, offers great features, but relatively slow compared to the speed of cards on the market. If you need speed, the USB3 version is probably a better buy, assuming you have USB3 ports.

Had my doubts about this working. However, I inserted a Kingston 8GB micro sd card into an SD adapter, copied an m4v movie from my PC USB slot, inserted into Galaxy S7 Edge and the movie played fine. I also tried it on an older Droid Mini running Android 4.4....also worked fine (VLC player). Main purpose here was getting pictures from phone onto a tablet I use as a travel computer. Also from a digital camera onto same. I prefer to use the micro sd inside an SD adapter in camera as then I can go either way (micro or normal) copying files over. I had no doubt this would work in a full sized USB 2 port, but the fact that it works on both Android N and Android Kit Kat was unexpected. No drivers required...plug in and was recognized in file manager (or "My Files" in newer Android). This thing will go into travel bag for sure. Watch movies on plane, copy and upload pictures from dedicated camera to cloud while on road. From experience, don't rely on your camera SD card to store a lot of pictures, video etc until you get home. It's usually fine, but if it corrupts, you lose at least some, maybe all. Copy them and even upload to cloud as you go.

Superb product, insanely affordable, and easy to use. I bought two; I use one for my in-dash touch-screen sound system for my SUV, and the other for my business needs so I can quickly access all my data libraries via my micro SD cards. I drive on business trips a couple of thousand miles a month up and down the eastern corridor, and I got sick of having to change out my CD collection, of which I could only carry so many, inside a CD binder with pockets. It was very difficult, and potentially dangerous, to change out the CDs in my previous sound system, which had a 6 CD carousel. When I changed out my sound system, I spent a few weekends transferring all my favourite tracks onto micro SDs. With the average song around 8MB, Just one 64GB micro SD will hold well over 8 THOUSAND songs on a micro SD that's smaller than my thumbnail. So, coupling that with the ability to view the directory of songs by name, divided into folders by genres and then albums, I can access any of those songs within second on the touchscreen. No muss, no fuss messing around with CD cases, no space taken up. And it's instant-play! This unit does all that, and it cost me less than half the CD pocket binder I struggled with for years, and which held a miniscule library compared to what I have now. If I could give this ten stars I would.
