As described. Although I'm not able to measure 30lb pressure, the tamper works as intended. Very easy to use and the "click" is awesome. It fits my hand/palm nicely and just light force applied is enough to tamper the coffee powder. it also fits nicely to a 54mm portafilter. As far as reliability and longevity, only time will tell. So far, am very happy with the consistency.

If you have more than 1 tamper in your collection, chances are you didn’t start with the MHW-3Bomber. Manual tampers make you guess how much pressure to apply and how to get the coffee level in the filter basket. Many spring-loaded tampers solve the pressure issue, but not the leveling problem. And then there is the question of depth with the spring-loaded models. Some are adjustable, which means you have to reset them for different dose quantities. The MHW-3Bomber solves all of these problems. It is engineered with three springs in a brilliant design that automatically adjusts for depth. It automatically delivers an ideal 30lbs. of pressure every time. It has a moveable outer ring that rests on the rim of the filter basket to ensure each tamp is level when you press the tamper down. To put a nice bow on it, this tamper delivers a reassuring “click” when the tamp is completed! The engineers of this tamper thought of everything. To lessen the problem of excess ground coffee migrating up and over the standard tamper base, they offer sizes to compensate for that. My 58mm filter basket for my Gaggia Classic uses a 58.35mm Bomber Tamper—problem solved. Finally, in order to help eliminate channeling and to get more even water distribution over the entire puck, the Bomber features a stainless-steel ripple design base. On top of all this engineering, this tamper is a well-made, quality product that looks great. This is the last tamper you will ever have to buy…it’s that good. I can't speak more highly of this MHW-3Bomber Tamper. It offers essentially the same functionality as the much more expensive Force Tamper (which costs 4x as much) in a reasonably priced and beautiful package. Here's what I love: 1. It's self-leveling on your filter basket so you'll always tamp evenly. 2. It's calibrated for 30 lbs of force, but you don't feel that you have to exert that much pressure, because the spring loaded mechanism will apply the force easily and then "snap." 3. It has a lovely circular ridge pattern, which may perhaps help with distribution and extraction. Even if it doesn't I love looking at it. 4. Aesthetically, it is beautiful in black with maple accents. It matches my coffee bar very well. 5. In terms of functionality, I found the combination of this tamper with the IKAPE Mantis for distribution produced excellent shots using Urth Caffe fresh beans with no channeling or problems whatsoever. If you are looking for a fantastic tamper, I highly recommend this one.

I have this and a Normcore tamper with a stabilizer plate, no calibration. I was hesitant to buy this one because of the concentric imprint it leaves, it seems unnecessary, albeit looks good and clean. I do not regret buying this one at all, it is very simple to use and actually very well built for the price it sells for, Normcore is a pretty pricey brand and is known for well-made products and this tamper is just as good as theirs. In fact, I think that in my opinion the way they have the springs set up on theirs is more efficient and less likely to break in the long-run. To keep this short: if you are short on cash and want a good tamper, that is calibrated so you can tamp on-the-go, this is a perfect choice and affordable. My only qualm as of 2 months of use is the wood grain handle is not the most realistic looking

Super simple to use for a beginner like me. Works perfectly every time. Compacts it perfectly at 51mm. Can't believe I tried getting a manual one and having to guess each time. This is literally just push down, hear click and you're good. Perfect. Wood quality is awesome too. It feels great and its not plastic junk. Would certainly recommend.

Looks great, solid build quality, and works great. I really like the press. It levels on basket and the pressure release at 30 lbs. makes puck press a breeze. Travel and pressure are easily adjustable and build quality is very nice. Would purchase again and highly Recommend.

I've had this a couple of days and it's really nice. It's wooden handle is very comfortable. The tamper seems well built. I have several tampers including a V4 and this one is as good or better than the others. I really like the feedback. The only thing is it could have a tighter fitting tolerance. After tamping there is a little residual around the edges. I found a slight turn before activating helps a lot. I'm still learning how to use it, but it works very well already. I'm using it with an Ims basket and bottomless portafilter. I got a little discount but I think it's worth the full retail price. This is the only feedback tamper I have used. Currently one other available on Amazon "Force" that I know about but is much more expensive and hard for me to justify the expense.

Amazing tamper. I originally bought the normcore tamper, but decided to give this a try for the audible click when you've hit the right pressure. Glad I made the switch. 1. The quality of the product feels great. heavy and sturdy. 2. Sits perfectly flat (or so it seems) on a breville sized porta filter. 3. The audible click is perfect. 4. The ergonomics are great, fits perfectly in my hand vs the normcore that has some odd shape to it.
