    • Easy to use
This light is a nice step up from smaller ones that are of a similar design. The dedicated knobs and switches for adjusting settings is a nice change from the multi-purpose push buttons that many other lights use. I also like that the light can be tilted with the included mount so if it is on your camera, you don't have to point the light directly at your subject. The base uses a standard GoPro style connector, so you also have the option of removing the included cold shoe mount and using other compatible mounts instead. At the 3200K setting, I measured 1050 lux at 0.5m and 280 lux at 1m. At the 5600K setting, I was getting 1300 lux at 0.5m and 360 lux at 1m. While this isn't that great compared to more expensive lights, it is still quite a bit better than the smaller lights in this class. The diffuser is not very effective as you can clearly see the individual LEDs in this light. But given the moderate output of this light, you might not want to cut it too much more. This light is designed to use standard NP-F style batteries, and has a built-in meter to let you know how much power you have left. It also gives you the option of using a standard 12V barrel connector for power as well if you don't want to run it off of a battery.     • Bright, good quality of light and slim
The brightness on this light is great, I did a bit of a burn in on this to see battery length and with my not totally full 65.1wh 7.4v battery, it lasted 6 hours at 100% at the mid level kelvin setting. I'm a little disappointed that this light didn't come with an AC power cable since it has the option to run off of a 6.8-12v center positive barrel style power source. However, everyone uses Sony batteries and they're very cheap. My favorite Sony style batteries for these lights are the ones with the LCD panel that shows the power level: https://amzn.to/3KzK9FY One aspect about this light that I haven't seen on any other smaller lights like this is it has a battery "test" button with four LED lights that show you the level of your battery on case you don't have a battery with a readout which is typically all of them. So that was handy! I really enjoy the tactile potentiometers, the dials! 😃 the knobs turn with hard stops, pretty nice to know you're at 100% or at one side of the dial or the other without looking at a readout. That being said, the knobs could use some markings on them (a simple dot), if you for some reason need know the actual percentage of light volume or need more accurate knowledge of kelvin settings you're on, or I suppose if you were being directed to move from one number to another, simply adding a little dot with some nail polish or paint marker will come in very handy, specially if you need to tell someone at a glance what your light is set to. So far I'm really liking this light, for run and gun shooters using this on top of a camera, know that there is not much battery "locking" on the battery mounting area. Meaning no actual button to release the battery, it's friction based, I couldn't see that being a horrible issue, but if it's bumped it WILL fall off. The mounting base is a 1/4" inch female and cold shoe combo. The pivoting part of this is quite interesting to note that it is actually a "gopro" style neck and can fit other go pro mounts which is pretty unique. ... show more

    • Very soft light.
Compared to other light i own, this one is very soft, I really like it. -Color temp works great -Like that it has an On-Off switch -Like the output dial, easy to use and doesnt make any drastic jumps like others i have that are very sensitive. -I get not including a battery, but at the very minimum include some way to use the light, a barrel cord would have been a nice inclusion incase a battery dies unexpectedly. -The light fit my NP-F970 Perfectly, and even though that battery weighs twice as much as the light, it ran the light all day on a lower output. (8+ hrs) -1/4" 20 mount / Cold shoe mount all nice options to have based on mounting options. -The pro style mount where it pivots is a nice Inclusion incase thats how you want to mount it. Overall very very impressed with the light so far. ... show more

Very little, if anything to complain about here at this price point. Not the brightest light I've ever used, but perfectly serviceable for most any use case that one would have for a light this size. Perfect for use as a lightweight and versatile rim/hair/accent/fill light. Great range of cool to warm. Takes AC power or common NP-F style batteries that I already have a pile of, so I don't ever have to worry about the quality or condition of some mystery internal battery. Mount point seems sturdy and helps for directional aiming of light. No complaints, wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one if I needed it! ... show more
