Impulse sealers are very convenient and safe because they can be immediately used, and the chance of being burned is minimal. An impulse sealer can save your business time and money. The impulse sealer will only apply heat whenever the arm is down and in contact with the material and base. This means a safer work environment and the ability to seal packages quickly for shipping or storage.
- ADJUSTABLE TIMER SETTING - Adjustable heat settings for the different materials being used. For most applications, using the impulse heat sealer at heat setting of 3 is sufficient. However, different temperature settings will be more suitable for certain materials of a higher or lower melting point or thickness. The adjustable timer makes it easy to seal a variety of packaging.

I bought this because I need to seal cellophane. I had originally tried my old Seal-A-Meal but it was way too hot for the purpose. I test sealed a piece of cellophane on setting two and it worked perfectly on the first try. You have to watch the light because as soon as it goes out, the seal is done and this happens very fast. I have found that it is necessary to mark the cellophane in order to line it up properly for a straight seal. The unit is sturdy and heavy and looks like it will last a long time.

Start with a very short cycle time, like the timer on 2 or less. I set mine according my old unit, even with a new heating element and it sliced right through the bag, melting the bag in half. So I dropped it from 5 down to 2 and it works great. Of course, there's a little melted mylar on the strip now so I may end up replacing that shortly, but that's my fault for making assumptions. The only downside here is that one of the two replacement heating elements is dinged pretty hard and creased. Whether it works or not or has reduced operational capacity remains to be seen, but creasing conductive elements usually isn't a good thing. It was easily spotted on my end, so there's a star lost based on QC in packaging, not on the product itself.
