The description says 6 ft long but that's just the handle, with the rake head it's more like 7 ft. Because this rake has threaded sections, you can make it multiple lengths. See the picture of it next to a typical leaf rake. The stainless steel handle extensions are well made, just the right gauge of steel so it's strong but not heavy. The rake head is well-constructed of steel with a thick powder-coated finish, is very well done. The sections have indented threads, which don't look like much, but thread together very securely, there is virtually no chance of them unscrewing unless you want them to. The blue spacers serve two functions, they keep your hands away from the seems so you don't get cut, and they help support the stainless tube at the connections. I didn't find them to get in the way. I went out and raked vigorously in our lawn to see how it felt and how durable it was. I was able to pull a lot of thatch out of my lawn with this rake it's very tough. The super long handle and light weight makes it perfect for reaching far into planting beds. For leaves, I'll pull out my huge plastic-head rake. But, for anything that requires a little more oomph, or for the planted areas, or for dethatching, I'll be reaching for this rake. Finally, I was concerned that a smooth stainless tube would be slippery to hold, but it wasn't for me. However, if your hands were wet or sweaty that might be a different story, you might have to wear gloves. I am surprised at how much I like this rake, it's now in our garage with our other tools waiting to be used.

Once you own a metal handled rake with the sturdier tines you won't be able to go back to the wooden spring tooth versions. We live in an oak grove and I rake a ton of leaves every year and my poor rakes just can't stay up with me... the wood handles serious bend and often break and my tines get all wonkie. This is sturdy.. not just the handle but the tines as well. It has a nice lifting action. It is also sturdy enough to use in my garden to move compost. A bit smaller head but a lot more power. Love love love metal handles... The only con, I would do a tighter thread pattern and have it go a little deeper so it stays put a bit better.

I was hesitant to get this as in the photos the steel rake part looked thin, but upon receiving it, I found it isn't. I have a wooden and a plastic rake, both of which have lost tines making raking difficult. I am tired of spending money on rakes that the tines break. I like this rake because, I don't expect that to happen with it. I got the 6' one thinking 5' may be too short, but 6' is way too long. I wound up shortening it.

This is a very nice, heavy duty metal rake. It is 6 ft with 25 tines. It 18 inches and is also expandable. The handle is metal and assembles very easily. In spite of how well it is built is light to hold. The rake is reasonable priced and a good product.
