If you search my orders you will see that I have purchased 5 Hitachi and 3 Metabo tools - all of which are of the highest quality. Some have suggested that the name change resulted in a poorer quality. Nonsense! If one is shingling a roof, a nailer is an enormous time saver. I placed Owing-Corning architectural shingles in a high wind area that calls for a 6-nail pattern or about 480 nails per square. I can bump 3 nails per second - a little over 2 and a half minutes of actual nailing time per square. I live in south central NM where 100-degree+ days are frequent. At three nails a second, I can survive the heat. Give yourself a test and see how long it takes you to hand-nail six roofing nails. This nailer is very well balanced and, at 5.5 pounds, it is not tiring on long jobs. Because the nails are coiled, the center of gravity is at one’s hand with no appreciable fore or aft pressure - yielding a comfortable balance. Contrary to a comment here, below, my gun misfired twice in approximately 2900 bumps. No,jam, just no nail in the feeder tube (spool did not advance); just bump again. Loading the 120-nail coils is uncomplicated, the first two nails settling in their respective slots. Unlike many pneumatic guns, this nailer can sequential or bump fire without making any adjustments. To sequential fire, set the firing head and pull the trigger; to bump fire, pull the trigger and then set the firing head. There are no additional adjustments necessary. This roofing nailer is a well made, easy to use, significant time-saving tool. At about $220 USD, t is well worth it even if used infrequently. I highly recommend this nailer, unchanged in quality since my first Hitachi nailer purchase in 2006. ... show more
