This is a great game for families, friends, and parties. It's so simple to learn, but so fun to play. Each roll of the dice offers you an opportunity to take risks, to hoard gold, to attack your competition, or to shore up your own health. You have to evaluate your options after each roll to see if you need to change tactics. It's not rocket science, but it's not just brainless rolling and re-rolling either. I bought two copies, one for myself and one for a stocking stuffer for my college-aged son. He plays games like this with his friends already. This will be a great addition to his small collection.

Our entire family loves this game! A quick cheat sheet: Sword, shield, gold, and the skull and crossbones are good for you, and the wave and red X are bad for you. BUT, those combo rolls with the wave and red X can really turn the tide, so if I get a couple waves or red X's on my first roll I try for a combo on the second roll. If it doesn't work out then I use my third roll to avoid trouble. And the interaction between players is great! We've had alliances come and go during a quick game as people target whoever is in the lead. But watch out! If you attack someone on your turn they may very well repay the favor. It's great fun and we laugh every time we play!

I found the game to be very easy to learn, and everyone had fun the very first time we played it. But then, as you play more, you realize that there are different strategies and risk/reward calculations for you to consider as you play through the game. Great to break out when friends are over for a fun, interactive time.

This is a sparkling gem of a game that is a breeze to get going with. The rules are easy to learn and there is no lengthy setup to get started– one of those rare treasures that can be enjoyed by a diverse range of ages and experience. I mean, who doesn’t love dice + pirates? Messy Table games may be new to the scene, but I already like the cut of their jib.

This is an addictive dice game that's so easy to learn really anyone can play. The quality of the game pieces are top notch and the artwork is super nice. Makes a great gift for any pirate fan, gamer, or family looking to spend some quality time together. Box is small enough you can take it anywhere (fits in purse, etc).

We played this game with 5 adults. The rules were not overly complicated but it was nice that there were cheat sheet cards to help with remembering what each dice symbol meant. In some ways it was similar to Yatzee but in others like Sorry or Monopoly. It had elements of both luck and strategy. I'd say the age range is accurate and time estimate was accurate too. It didn't take too long either, roughly half an hour. It would be even faster now that we've learned it better. It wasn't our all-time favorite but it was a good fast paced and fun game.
