This is a cool, inexpensive little set up for the beginning, intermediate, or young at heart artist, who would like many of the features of a pochade box easel, but at an entry level price. It offers an open up storage situation to pack up some supplies for travel or plein aire opportunities that is rather generous in the space it provides. It also comes with space dividers to separate brushes and paints as you would see fit. Or, you could remove the dividers, and have one big drawer. This table top easel adjusts to a variety of convenient angles to accomodate everyone from the watercolorist to the pastelist to the painter of other media, such as oil or acrylic. Indeed, they start you off with a generous supply of acrylic paint tubes, brushes, sponges, color wheels, and tutorial information. I think it is awesome for the price point. The only perks it doesn’t seem to offer are a tripod ready attachment, and a set up with which to transport wet canvases as one would need to have if one paints en plein aire with oil paint. I would definitely consider this set up giftable for anyone who wants to be an artist, regardless of experience or age. The recipient could easily adapt this set up to individual taste. Think the only person who wouldn’t like this is the person who could only countenance the absolute best quality of every art supply that they would consider working with. But if you don’t have your heart set on every single expensive thing you see in an art supply store catalog, I think you would enjoy this set up, and be proud to use it. Just my .02. ☺️
