My 18-year-old love of my life cat who is very finicky will eat the Duck and chicken pate . I think it’s good on his tummy as we get regular poops! (especially important for an old guy) Merrick makes other food that he likes, too. The gravy kind and Thanksgiving dinner! My cat hates the prescription foods . My vet said I should get this food for both my cats, so she didn't try to go and eat his, since she was more familiar with it. Well, we didn't need to worry about that, she finished all of her Merrick Rabbit pate, and it was her brother who wanted hers! She's done really well with this food. Her fur is growing back nicely (she had lost most of her fur in the back) and she's gaining weight. Her appetite is good. When we first started with the vet food, it was an subscription Urgent Care food, that she stayed on for two months. It was also a 5.5 oz can, and I mixed it with equal amount of pumpkin, per the vet. He wanted her to eat that can with the pumpkin in one day. I had never given her that much food, and thought she would throw up. But she chomped it down, even more so with this food. She can't wait to eat now. I am going to switch my other cat over to this food, its easier, and turned out to be cheaper than the Pro plan! I had never heard about so many different things until my little girl got so sick. Rabbit or Kangaroo food? That's my vet wanted me to find for her. No Kangaroo 🦘food to be had. So I did my research, found about 3 brands to try, and this is the winner. Our cats have always loved Merrick food, specifically this rabbit formula. I have bought it from Amazon and at a local big box store. Since the last purchase of this about a month ago from my local store, they have turned their noses up at it and won't eat it. I know some cats are finicky, but my orange cat wouldn't touch it and he eats anything. There are reports of Merrick foods potentially making pets sick/causing death (part of Purina issues as well), so I hope this isn't the case. Others reading this, please keep an eye on your pets. If they refuse the food, there's a good reason for it. ... show more

    • Formula Change 2023 & Damage

I have fed this cat food to our 4 kitties for almost 2 years & up until the last 2 cases they have loved this product. The most recent 2 cases arrived with significant damage including some unsealed cans & all but one of my cats have refused to eat any of the food from sealed and undamaged cans from these cases that I have offered them. The cat who did eat some of the food had horrible tummy issues after eating it so I stopped offering it to them. The previous 2 cases I received had some damaged cans, but they ate the food from those happily with no issue. I contacted Merrick about the issues and they advised that they recently changed their formula. The cans that my cats won't eat are from lots with the new formula and the other cans are the original formula. Merrick did nothing to remedy the issue and their CS was horrible. I will no longer be feeding this product to my cats and will be looking for a new wet food to offer them. ... show more
