My dog seems to be allergic to chicken. It's hard to find chicken-free dog food at a low price point. Even when it says 'Beef' on the front label, the back label shows they slip in chicken or chicken broth. Merrick seems to be the brand that is least expensive, but still good-quality, and with plenty of chicken-free varieties. It's hard to tell what food my dog likes or doesn't like, since he eats everything I give him like it's his last meal. He literally never refuses any food. This food seems to be decent quality, so I feel OK about giving it to him. I mix it in with Acana Red Meat kibble to make it last longer. Merrick also makes good chicken-free kibble, but after comparing to Acana, I decided it has better ingredient quality. The price is the same. I picked up 4 month supply of Merrick canned while it was on sale for Black Friday. If you watch for sales, you can get this food at quite a bargain. ... show more

Was looking for this type of wet food which includes a good amount of food with gravy. My dog absolutely loved it. I especially liked that it mixes well with dry food. My only complaint is the portion size for the price of these cans. I bought this a "special" thanksgiving dinner for my dog however I don't think I could afford to purchase this food as a daily meal for my dog. ... show more

My furry best friend has gotten finicky in his old age. We had fed him Merrick cans when he was younger but switched him to Farmers Dog, which he loved. I’ve been a customer of Merrick for years. I buy by the 12 pack and have spent a lot of money on their dog food. I’ve cut way back and transitioning dogs to a different brand due to the fact cans are never full anymore and what’s there is 40% gravy. I did not consider the size of the chunks when we bought this food. We have a little chihuahua, and we have to break it up in the bowl, however, she loves it, and we may consider buying it again. It is however, very expensive. Is it worth it, I don't know, Steve
