This is my 4th or 5th pair of these shoes. I have them in 2 different colors. I have gotten many compliments on how they look and know for a fact that a few of those people ordered them as well and told me how much they like them. They are great for light hiking or just walking as well as cycling (if you don't clip in). The traction is good. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on and I haven't needed to break them in. And they really are waterproof!! I cycled with them in the pouring rain and my feet stayed dry! I love these Merrell Sirens and hope they continue to make them for a long time!

I read the reviews on sizing. I wear an 8.0, so I purchased an 8.0 wide to accommodate thick socks is needed. It's a perfect fit, and it's so comfy. No, breaking in—good to go! Highly recommend!

I got these to replace an 11-yr old pair of waterproof Merrill hiking shoes that had served me well. They are comfortable! My only concern is that the soles aren't as "grippy" as my previous pair; I've slipped in them a couple of times.

I first ordered these shoes in 8 1/2 D, my normal size. They were a bit short and not as wide as most Ds I have bought, so I returned for a 9D. This one fits fine and even leaves me room to insert my orthotic. I was looking for a waterproof shoe for a cruise in Alaska so put some water on the cloth part of the toe. My hand inside stayed dry, so I hope these will perform as they should. It's not easy to find a waterproof walking shoe in a wide size, and I'm very happy to have come across these.

I have narrow feet but it's hard to find waterproof hiking shoes in a narrow. These actually lace up tightly and fit well on narrow feet. They are comfy to walk or hike in all day. They are waterproof and have kept my feet dry. I typically wear a 9 to 9&1/2; I ordered the 9&1/2 and they fit perfectly. And I think they're pretty cute too. So glad I found these!!

While I kept these shoes and am still trying to break them in, they arrived not made like the pair of identical name that I already have. The bottom sole is the same dimensions, but the fabric part of the toe box is narrower than the other pair, making them much less comfortable. Also the tongue is sewn too far up the sides and is too bulky and doesn't lie completely flat under the shoelaces. I will have to cut it away somewhat to make it go under and keep the tie area more comfortable. At first I wondered if these shoes are "fake" Merrills because of these problems?

Not like other Merrel hiking shoes. Too snug a fit in the toe. I guess I should have ordered a half a size up than my normal shoe size. The design of the shoe is super bulky on the outside but too snug on the inside. So your feet will look HUGE if you want it to fit properly. I bought this because my last Merrill’s were also waterproof and I wore them every day and had great fit. They definitely changed this design. Unfortunately I now cannot return these. I would not recommend
