  • Comfort and style, great for travel
Color: Aluminum/Boulder Size: 8.5
These shoes are super comfortable with good support. I had the same ones for years and they held up great. I was looking for a pair for an international trip and after considering several other Merrell styles ended up buying these again. They're great for travel - versatile for packing because they're not heavy and look more like sneakers so can be worn with casual outfits. I got gray/tan and they go well with neutral colored and black clothing. True to size, I got my usual size 8 1/2 and they fit well. ... show more

  • So Far, So Good. Initial impressions
Color: Rock/Bluestone Size: 9
My wife has tried many shoes or different makers, styles, purposes, etc with many thus far not fitting as she had hoped. Or perhaps not enough arch support. Or being too "clunky" looking or too heavy on the feet to cause fatigue early in the trek. She is picky and she should be. She volunteers at two animal shelters and will walk the dogs, MANY dogs, for a combined total of anywhere from 9 to 11 miles per day! Aside from cleaning up the kennels, her goal will be to walk all the dogs that are presently in the adoptions area to not only give them exercise but also to work on some basic walking-on-leash training for perspective adoption families. This is tough on shoes. And feet. Rather than the shoes falling apart, it is typically the tread that she wears out to the point the the shoe's bottoms become smooth and slippery. She has had Merrell in the past and really likes that brand. I thought I would order a couple of pair to see how she likes them. So far, so good. The shoes appear to be very well constructed, has a good "not-too-aggressive" tread, and are very light weight. The cushioning is good, arch support is good, and they are a perfect fit. Longevity would be nice to measure but that is further down the road. In the meantime, she will monitor whether things start fraying, cracking, splitting, (and so on) and reserve the right to come back and alter this review. But for now, this is a shoe she really wants to try out and love. ... show more

  • Lightweight Hiking Sneakers
Color: Black/Acai Size: 9
This sneaker is from Merrell. They don't need breaking in. They're comfortable and fit well. There's room for my toes to move around. They also look nice. I bought them for light to moderate hiking.

  • Perfect lightweight flexible great traction.
Color: Turbulence Size: 7.5
The media could not be loaded. Expectations met After hiking in my Merrell Mids hiking boots past 2 years close to 300 miles on them I decided to stick with what I knew worked and fit me. And I’m glad I did these couldn’t be closer to what I expected from Merrell. Perfect for warmer weather on the trails Super flexible good traction light breathable material but yet enough protection and sturdy to be a good hikers not to mention stylish they have a wide toebox area and the heel part really hugs your heel (also helps keep out debris)if it wasn’t for that it Kind of feels like I’m wearing sandals hiking compared to my boots. they’re so light. First hike in them was 7mi with creek crossing no problem just kept on hiking they hardly got wet on inside set them out with the early morning sun dry and like new within a hour they have a waterproof version but I figure since these are so light and are made out of mesh (mostly)some foam (heel area)they would dry super fast and they do no point in paying the $30 extra for waterproof. Only thing is where the tongue is sewed on underneath when you wear no socks the seams scratches you when putting on but don’t after tounge is adjusted. And whatever that material is that overlays the mesh? It doesn’t scruff or scratch easily and repels water. the mesh also repels water and debris. I would say unless you’re going to submerge them they’re pretty water resistant nothing is waterproof. They’re made small so I’d say stick to the same size if you own Merrells and you don’t plan on wearing thick socks. if you don’t have Merrells go up a half size than what you usually are. For 90 bucks I’m very happy with them I’m going to put them through a lot the next couple years and I am sure they they’re going to hold up just as much. I’ll add pics soon! Update! Here’s pics and a motion sickness video😉 of first hike In review. Have done about 55 more miles still nothing wrong I would have more pics of them a little more beaten up and used but they’re in the car that’s where they live! Update October 2023 OK so after breaking them in good, with about 100 miles on them now. And I had hoped to get a couple hundred more out of them, which is not going to happen, hoped to use them to start trail running in this fall that is not going to happen either. They just are not holding up .I can only get 4-5 miles in them before they start hurting my feet! Had I have gotten a bigger size maybe I could’ve had room for a gel insole. That would defeat the purpose of what I was looking for. Where as my Merrill mids boots I can still do 16 miles in them still easy! Maybe Merrill should just stick to boots. ... show more

  • Perfect for me!
Color: Polar/Wave Size: 10
This was my 1st pair of Merrell hiking shoes and I loved the support! If I could describe how they felt to me, like wearing cowboy boots. Only much lighter, cooler, roomier in the toes, and colorful. They hugged my arches and comfortable to wear all day. Not as spongy or bouncy as walking shoes. At first I thought that might be an issue but it wasn't. I get compliments every day on them. They were perfect for me. ... show more

  • Great everyday hiking and walking shoe
Color: Charcoal/Paloma Size: 9.5
I've bought these shoes 3 years in a row. I love their style and fit. I wear them everyday except in the heat of the summer and they last a solid year. They are functional for hiking and walking on any surface and they hold up well. Will buy again.

  • I wish it lasted more than one summer.
Color: Black/Acai Size: 7.5 Wide
This was my second pair of exactly the same model, same size (7.5W), same color. The first pair lasted me for well over 400 miles on the toughest trails in the US, Europe and New Zealand, until the tread on the sole wore out. I love this model because the sole has flexibility but at the same time enough support for a backpacker with a heavy load, and the shoe is comfortable. When I bought my second pair of the same, I hoped for at least 200 miles, but the sole peeled away after the first 80 miles. Shoe glue does not give me much confidence. I bought another pair for a long overseas trip since I don't have time to find and break in another model, but if this pair does not hold up, I will be done with Merrell after 20+ years being a dedicated customer and a total of at least 8 different pairs. ... show more
