I purchased these and the Moab 2 low vent. These are great. Even after reading that they run small, I decided to buy my normal shoe size which is a 6 1/2 M. I am so happy I did. They fit perfectly with enough room for wool socks. They were comfortable right out of the box. I've now walked several miles in both before I attack a longer hike. There were no issues. I love the color. These are not heavy boots. They are versatile enough to be used as a normal walking boot or hiking boot

Previously i had several pairs of keen targhee hiking boots which i really liked but the way they were made there was a seam that always rubbed uncomfortably on my big toe, causing me pain if i wore them for long periods of time. I was worried these boots might do the same thing but they dont. they fit wonderfully - lots of room in the toe box (i did go 1/2 size up from what i was previously wearing) but even with the spacious toe box my feet do not move around in them and i dont get any uncomfortable rubbing or blisters. these do say they are waterproof, but unfortunately they are not gore-tex so im sure the waterproof layer will only stay waterproof for so long, but thats the case with any kind of boot made from leather or suede. i hope these are as rugged as the targhee hiking boots were as i live in colorado and lots of the hiking i do is over terrain with sharp rocks which tend to destroy shoes which are made of man-made materials. so far they are holding up good and they are very very comfortable. oh - my only other complaint is the shoe laces - not a big deal but they are round laces which i never like - they come untied easily and you have to be careful not to accidentally trip on them when this happens, so i replaced the laces with half-round laces which are much better and stay tied. wish merrell would switch the kind of laces because i dont see any advantage to round laces.

I just received these Merrell hiking boots and have worn them twice while hiking in the park. They are very comfortable and have this fantastic tread on the bottom. It makes walking up and down hills and on slippery leaves much safer. I am very pleased with them.

Very comfortable to wear. Gets dirty easily when in dust. Stable. I’m a 8.5 W and ordered a 8.5 W with enough room in toe box using a wool sock. Originally bought for an Iceland trip but used them so much hiking in Hawaii I got them dirty and muddy before the trip. Will definitely purchase more Merrell products.

Love these boots! Took a 5 day hiking trip in various settings (from dry to muddy to straight water) and they held up perfectly. They are light but sturdy, and the mesh on top makes them breathable (so no super gross feet). Also, I didn’t have a ton of time to break them in - and no blisters! I cannot tell you how in love I am with these hiking boots!

There's are light weight and sturdy. I need good arch support and after trying on dozens of boots, nothing compared to these. I highly recommend. I would get a half size up just because your feet always need extra room when you're hiking. But they are true to size I'd say.
