Firstly, these are great boots and I really wanted to keep them, but. If you are like me and want them for hiking in snow. If you like to wear slim cut jeans tucked into your boots with heavy socks, you might have a problem. It says in the discription the boot shaft is 4" "cercomfrence ". Since that would be ridiculous, I took them to mean diameter. That would make the actual cercomfrence 12.5 or 6. Plenty of room for pants and socks. Unfortunately, the 4" measure was from the outside of the boot. The actual diameter is 3", which makes the cercomfrence 9.5", too tight for how I wanted to use them. They zip up to about 2-3" from your anklebone, so measure from there to see if they work for you. I took the one star off because of the diameter vs cercomfrence error. I needed a pair of warm, waterproof, winter boots with some traction for walking. These boots fit the bill. They're fairly light weight and have good grip. They're warm. They keep my feet dry. The footbed is very comfortable. The trouble is the rigid lining inside the cuff. It's so stiff that it rubbed the skin off my shins the first time I wore them. I'm able to compensate by not zipping them completely closed or by tucking my pant legs into my socks, both of which result in less-than-optimal movement while walking. These boots would be ideal for short spurts, but not if you need to wear them for any length of time. FYI: I went up a half-size and they fit perfectly. ... show more

I think this is pair is mis-labeled. I could not even get my foot inside the narrow "throat" of the boot, despite it being labeled as the same size of my other wonderful Merrell footwear. Since it arrived in an Amazon box rather than a Merrell box, I am assuming it had already been returned once. Merrell products are excellent, in my experience, and the boots appeared to be as expected with lots of cushioning and warmth. I am very disappointed to return them and I hope they do not get re-sent to some other unsuspecting customer with a size 7.5 foot! ... show more

This is a very well made pair of boots, very comfortable and sturdy. I wear a size 10 and they fit perfectly. What I DON'T like? They are incredibly difficult to get your foot into. The zipper on the size is all well and good, but because of the fabric holding it together, you really cannot open them up the way you can with some boots, that offer a zipper with a waterproof edge (like Merrell used to do). I'm keeping them because they're comfortable but honestly, if I can find something easier to get into then these will be gone. ... show more
