I purchased these boots for my Granddaughter (8yrs) and a pair for my Grandson (10yrs) too. They are great for fun hikes and adventurous beach walks during the fall and winter months along the Jersey shore. These hiking boots keep their feet dry and protected from fallen tree branches, thorns etc. and much better traction than their sneakers. We found them to be very supportive and sturdy, great for dirt trails with some hills and rocks. I own a pair for myself as well.
