Most of my experience is very positive - these are great shoes. However: The bottom of the shoe by the heel is broken up into two treads on the left and the right with a gap in between (picture). When you put your foot down the heel has a minor wobble until both the left and right tread are hitting the ground at the same time. it's different than any other shoe I've worn. If you walk on your heel from the outside then in like I do, these shoes will drive you nuts - like they do for me. I wish the back heal tread was fully across and did not have that gap. That's my only gripe. Otherwise, these shoes fit to size, feel great on day one (not too stiff but still feel new), have a nice cushion on the inside (will report back later on the memory foam and how it holds up), and look great too.

I bough these to use while working out in the yard or mowing the lawn. They are very comfortable and fit great but beware they run slightly small; I usually wear an 11.5 in Skechers but those were to tight so I returned them for the 12 which fit great so size up 1/2 size. I can't speak to longecity yet.

What can I say about Skechers every pair I have ever owned is like walking with pillows on my feet. Plenty of arc support, quality and appearance or just what I expected feet are thanking me everyday that I wear them at work.

My husband is really hard on shoes and hard to fit into shoes. He has wide feet. He can fit into a regular width shoe, but it eventually distorts the shoe by stretching it out and it can't be comfortable to wear. He loved this shoe so much that when the sole came unglued and came apart, he re-glued it and wore them for another year. He had these shoes for at least three years before they became unwearable and I bought a second pair for him. He loves the fit and the cushion of the insole. Says they are comfortable from day one and need no breaking in period. For my husband to have a shoe last three years is saying something about the shoe. He has tried a $200 shoe which literally did not last a year and cheap shoes that lasted no time. The Sketcher Afterburn is his favorite shoe...well favorite after the Sketcher slip ins he has discovered! Great comfort and value and it held up to my husband's abuse.

Bought these 10 Oct 2022. Today is 25 Aug 2024. The sole is intact. Outwardly it isn't falling apart. The inside however is a different story. The memory foam didn't last even 6 months. I've never had a pair of anything where it did. But the inside of the shoe started to shred in places. Around the toes, strings started to appear. After about a year and a half or so, the heel began to open up It didn't take long for my heel to chew through the foam at all. Now, there's nothing between me and the outer part of the shoe at the heel. What happened to using longer lasting, quality materials? Now all the crap comes from China and is as cheap as cheap can get. The materials also come from other countries when the labor is cheaper, ie Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc. Not because labor is less expensive, but because bottom lines have to be padded.
