I bought these hiking shoes just prior to going to The Badlands NP for 12 days and I can say I literally had no ‘break-in’ time that was needed. These replaced the same model that had become worn out from excessive use, as expected after 4 years of use, so I ordered this pair with a half size more toe room and in the wide version. My feet thanked me at the end of the day for doing that! I had a lot of up and down hikes and the shoes performed well. Glad that I purchased them here and saved about $35 off local retail. I got the waterproof version as I had before and am very satisfied with the purchase.

I bought these for a trip to Iceland, thinking I would only wear them when I absolutely had to, an opinion based upon several former pairs of heavy and clunky hiking boots. I didn’t even try them on before we left home. However, the first time I needed to wear them I was floored by how absolutely comfortable they are, with excellent support, lots of toe room, breathability even though they are waterproof (and I added an extra waterproofing spray to them as well). They are so comfortable I wore them as my preferred shoe for nearly every day for the next two and a half weeks of our vacation! I’m so glad I bought these, wish I would have had them years ago!

I sized my shoe at the local athletics store for the size I wanted. They carried Merrills. I ordered the size and color here and they arrived pretty quick. Things to know....I bought the same size I normally wear in a jogging shoe and surprisingly these had extra room for thicker socks. I was worried about hiking blisters but so far after some 10 mile hikes I've had no foot issues. I have almost a neutral pronation, so they don't give me a problem. The soles are thick with an aggressive tread. I really believe these will last a long time. I thought I could get by with hiking trails in jogging shoes but I found out real quick that doesn't work. If you have jogging shoes with gel soles or something of that nature, you know you want smooth, flat surfaces to jog on. Since most hiking routes are anything but smooth...these Merrills take away nearly all the lumpy sensations while you're hiking. Yeh, I won't hike in my running shoes again! I like these Merrills!

These fit true to size. They fit really well the first time. I bought them for an upcoming trip and worried I would need to break them in but they felt like a great fit, so I decided to wear them to work the next day. I walk a lot when working, 2 miles in, who knows how many more at work and 2 miles back. With most shoes, big mistake. With these, not an issue. They are lighter than expected and very comfortable. I've only had them a little while, so I can't speak to durability or anything else, just that I was able to buy them, put them on and walk 4+ miles without any discomfort or blistering. These are lighter than my Asic running sneakers!

Husband is not one to shop so I had to order him a new pair of all around shoes to replace his old Merrells. This pair did not disappoint! Perfect fit for him right out of the box. He's diabetic so he is VERY particular about how shoes fit and feel against his feet. Definitely 2 thumbs up from him once again on these Merrell shoes!

Was in a large retailer with hubby and he needed a new pair of Merrell’s. He tried a pair on and did not want to spend the $. So I checked Amazon and they were 40.00 cheaper. Yes they are sturdy, comfortable and can be used for casual wear or hiking. He always has trouble with his feet so he likes to stick with what works. I ordered the Moab!!

I got these because they are offered in wide, decent color and are mostly waterproof. I feel a little bit taller when wearing this; great for a short gnome like myself. They actually can be slipped on, with no hands involved sort of like slippers. Really convenient for a quick outing in inclimate climate like muddy ground where they do well due to the gnarly tread. One downside is my foot become clammy, which is a problem with most gortex or waterproof shoes I hear. As long as I don't wear them all day it's fine. I probably would not go on a hike with these as that can become uncomfortable, especially if your feet get wet, they take longer to dry out compared to sneakers. I've heard this sentiment also echoed by seasoned long distance hikers, one of which actually prefers sneakers on hikes.

They fit true to size. The toe area has plenty of room to move my toes up and down. These are study, rugged, waterproof, and yet very comfortable. A much better shoe than the trail shoes I was wearing for a year. I should have bought these sooner.
