Bought these shoes for a canyoneering and hiking trip. Very comfortable and the size 13 fits my normal size 13 feet perfectly. I completely submerged these shoes in canyon water and of course water got in. It helped that I was wearing Neoprene Socks. The next day I went on a day-hike with wool socks and the shoes quickly dried out completely. The third day I went on another day hike through streams in the rain and my feet were completely dry. Moral of the story, yes, the shoes are waterproof as long as you don't submerge them. Fortunately, the shoes are high quality and dry out quickly. I abused these boots on this trip and they kept up like a champ. Highly recommend these boots to any outdoorsmen who needs a sturdy yet comfortable boot!

This is the 3rd pair of Merrel Moab hiking boots. I just love these. They are light and very comfortable. Not much different than regular athletic shoes. The waterproofing does make the fit a bit warmer to wear but I doubt you'd notice it. I do a lot of hiking in the Blue Ridge and Smoky mountain trails as well as many others. I have found their durability to be excellent. I highly recommend them.

I like the ruggedness of this boot. This is my second pair. I have found the traction terrific, the weight is acceptable, and I love the way the provide overall protection for my feet. I have never exposed them to water to the point of determining how "waterproof" they are. However, when exposed to small amounts of water and damp hiking, i.e. rain, they do seem to hold up well and keep my feet dry. Good purchase.

I use these for work (automotive repair and salvage). So they get abused pretty bad! Oils and fluids don't seem to bother them, dirt and gravel don’t bother them, and the best part is they stay waterproof unlike the Keens that I had. Great shoe, great price, period. Don’t waste your money on any other brand.

My Moab 2s lasted a decade before I decided to replace them with 3s. Still a perfect hiking and everyday boot; practical, comfortable, and break in quickly. I went with the olive ones because they were a little cheaper and the photos looked more tan anyway… they are a mossy green. Still the best outdoors footwear in the market!

I bought these in preparation for a weekend hiking trip along the first leg of the Appalachian Trail. I wanted something supportive, durable and affordable, and these fit the bill perfectly. Held up amazingly well on 500 miles of hikes already and still going strong. Great ankle support. Shoes did not oveheat my foot in the beating sun in Arizona. Water crossing upto 4in of standing water were no problem. All in all a great hiking boot!
