  • Great shoes, rugged and long lasting
Size: 9.5 Wide Color: Granite V2
My second pair of Merrill's in 25 years. I have wide feet for a woman so I buy the men's style. (Women's W Merrill's are still not quite wide enough for my comfort) These are so comfortable, nice looking and last an incredibly long time. I snagged my original pair on a nail (on the top part) so needed another for wet winter weather. Still using my torn ones for dry days . ... show more

  • Durable, Supportive, and Worth It
Size: 11 Color: Walnut
High-quality hiking shoe with excellent support and protection on rocky trails. It took a little time to break them in, but once they did, they felt sturdy and comfortable. I actually bought two pairs because they perform so well.

  • Solid, Comfortable Hiking Shoes That Get the Job Done
Size: 10.5 Color: Walnut
These shoes fit true to size and proved to be durable and comfortable on the trail. While they look a bit bulky and the brown color isn’t exciting, they offer reliable performance and a normal, sturdy weight. I wore them on a full hike up Mt. Humphreys without any discomfort or hot spots—impressive for brand-new footwear. A dependable, no-nonsense pair of hiking shoes. They seem they they will last longer and will made. I didn't have any issues with slipping, they had good tread and gripped well. ... show more

  • Best shoes I've had yet and the only shoe that should be worn as an everyday shoe.
Size: 12 Wide Color: New Granite
For those wondering, I purchased these for bicycling with flat pedals. I did try them on before putting them up prior to getting the flat pedals mounted on my bike. Styling of the shoes makes no difference to me. Shoes are shoes to me. I'm not looking for looks at all. Waterproofing, I'll have to get back to this later on as I've not tested them in the rainy weather here. These shoes are plenty stiff where necessary for my intended purpose as well as most hikers. Value for the money is yet to be determined as I've not worn these long. Arch support in this pair of shoes is great as is the fit. I have a 12EEEEE foot. I have extreme issues with finding shoes that fit. These fit better than the cowboy boots I purchased back in the 80's. The first pair I walked in for 30 miles the next day after purchase. If these Merrell shoes last as long as they did and are as comfortable as those boots were, great. I've been longing for another pair of shoes that gave me a 1 inch lift in the heel area as per a podiatrists words is the ideal heel height for a shoe. Podiatrists recommend shoes with no more than a 1 inch heel and no more than a 15 degree forward cant to that heel. I've not found this in any (I mean all the bicycling shoes I've worn or looked at) other shoe. Not even high end running or jogging shoes. As to the specialized version of Vibram rubber soles, I know Vibram wears good. Let's see how these last when mating up to a pair of Race Face Chester pedals. One last comment here. While writing this review it shows up as Merrell Men's Moccasin like it did after I ordered these shoes. I ordered and got the Merrell Moab 3 waterproof men's low top so this review is for that shoe, NOT the Merrell Men's Moccasin. • My Feet Thank Me
Size: 9 Color: Walnut
Love these shoes. Am on my third pair. Daily user. Bought a pair for my wife's brother and he loves his pair as well. The are well made, provide excellent support, run true to size, and hold up to rugged regular use. Some may find them a little heavy but they are a hiking shoe not a running shoe. Switched from New Balance to these, no looking back. ... show more

  • My favorite hikers for many years!
Size: 11 Wide Color: Walnut
I've owned many pairs of Merrell's over the decades, for everything from hunting to walking to hiking. I'm currently on my 3rd or 4th pair of Maob 3's (I lose count - but I DO know I'm 73) that I wear hiking. The Moabs will not wear out, as the pics show, despite daily 3 mile hikes on the rocky, steep trails behind my house here in the Santa Rosa San Jacinto mountains. Hiking can be hot here in the desert, and the Moabs breath well. My wife had been hiking with me in a pair of high-end leather hiking boots, and when I convinced her to try these, she was amazed at the difference. I occasionally refer to her as 'my Imelda Marcos' due to her extreme obsession with shoes. She spent a lot of her time on her feet in business and was constantly on the hunt for something presentable and comfortable, as a closet full of purchases can attest. And while these Moabs won't work for even business casual, on the trails she says they're the best she's had. I can attest that they're comfortable from day one if sized correctly, as I just returned from my first hike in this new pair. My feet are a mess due to osteoarthritis, with crooked toes and other issues, and I wear an 11 W with the broad toe box providing excellent comfort despite the physiological problems. Uphill sections are a breeze, and while downhill sections require more focus and care, especially at my age with two artificial knees, I still pass others who are experiencing worse traction than these Moabs provide. Don't get me wrong, I'm still careful, but the traction is excellent even in scree with proper precaution. I'm attaching pics of the previous 2 pairs along with the new pair. The old ones will become work shoes around the yard - there's nothing wrong with them other than I wear the tread off on the abrasive terrain the dog and I cover. The shoes don't break down, lose stitches, or otherwise degrade appreciably - I just have to renew them every year or two for fresh tread compound. I bought this pair last week and the price just went up - I should've bought two pairs! Oh well... ... show more
