I have been wearing Merrell Moab's 2 since 2016 and loved them. The only thing I wished they would change was the tread pattern and now with the Moab 3 they did!! If you know the older model you know it was not super great in wet slippery weather. They way the old tread pattern was made you feel a bit unstable over like wet logs or rocks. They have finally listened to their customers and made like actual boot aggressive (but not too aggressive) tread blocks on the bottom and it has been a game changer. It keeps all the classic traits of keeping your feet cool with the vents and so comfortable, but now has a really good grip and I think they have made the best shoe ever with this model. I’ve been hiking in Merrell off and on for nearly 20 years now. I have tried other brands but keep returning to these. I like this upgrade to the Moab, which fits me better than the previous version. My feet are medium width, probably on the narrower side, and these are completely true to size in all regards. They are very supportive and cushiony with a grippy sole and good ventilation. I did decide to replace the stock insole with a soft Spenco model that provides more arch support and cushion, but that’s just a matter of choice. An improvement over the Moab2. Slightly more comfortable, and the pull-on loops were the right size. Good stability, fine on inclines or level walkways. Haven't slip-slided with them on wet pavement or anything, so that's ok. I've been a Merrell Moab wearer for a long time. Still have a pair of the full boot - almost like new. Yep, 5 years ago or so, the shoes were made a little better. ... show more

I normally use Keen hiking shoes but thought I'd give these a try for the price. They're quite light weight, which is nice in some ways, but also not as good at protecting one's foot from sharp rocks, stick pokes, or snow/cold. If the outside gets wet, you feel the chill right away on the inside. Note, I didn't say your feet get wet, but if it's slush or wet snow, you feel the cold right away in the toes. Still, I think they are fine for fair weather use on maintained trails. The 11.5 size I got fit just a tiny bit small but still within what I would call a normal men's 11.5 US - just don't plan on wearing heavy socks if you're a true 11.5. ... show more

I got these on a sale $62 They run a little small maybe a half size bigger would help. I wear a 10 and they fit but I could wear a 10 1/2 for more toe room.

These are excelent WALKING shoes on flat ground. On the hand hand they are NOT good hiking shoes as my last pair were. Several times I've twisted my ankle on slight hills. The soles seem to be a bit high while the material holding your foot in place are not is strong as my last hiking shoes. Still good shoes walking but not for hiking. ... show more
