I was really looking forward to seeing this product in person. From all the photos and after reading up all the other reviews. The package finally showed up as promised. But once I opened it. The garment was beyond wrinkled. It looked like it had been crushed down by a pile of boxes. Even still, I decided to try it on. Thinking that I might just end up sending it to a dry cleaners if it had fit and If I had liked the look of it. The color was okay. Not the deep black that was presented in the pictures. Still black, just not true black. So the fabric was a cheap poly blend. Even more the collar of the coat was very floppy flimsy having no support. Unlike what it appeared in the reviews and photos. Disappointing. Taking a closer look at the buttons were made of plastic painted to give a polished stainless steal metal look. It was Cheap quality. I’ve seen and owned better costume pieces that had stronger buttons than this. Making things even more disappointing. The coat does NOT button up. There were no button holes anywhere to connect and close the coat. Game over! The reviews and the photos of this product were incredibly misleading. Definitely not what I expected for all the hype of this so called near five star coat. Had no choice but send it back for a full refund. Which is the only reason why gave it two stars. The return was smooth and painless. This coat might work well for some. If you’re looking for an inexpensive lengthy period look coat for costume only. Only after you have it dry clean it first. Perhaps have them stiffen up the collar while they have it. ... show more

I ordered 3 different steampunk style jackets to try and this was definitely the best one. It was actually true to size unlike the others which seemed to run big. The material was very nice. The ties in the back were good to adjust the fit. Was perfect for the costume! Bought this for my man, 6ft 190-200 and bought an XL. if it were an everyday item i would trade it for a size larger, but for a costume it works. If on the fence, size up. my man has long arms, but it is even a tad long in the arms for him. the brown is a little more of a David Tenant Dr who brown coat and not as dark as the picture shows. It is made decently. Definitely a costume, but made well for a costume coat. It can work for multiple needs. At first i wanted the black but accidentally ordered the brown. Ended up keeping it as it does look nice and can be used for multiple costumes in the years to come. the collar on first use, does seem to stay popped which looks cool. the buttons are plastic, but seem pretty decent and was better than i was expecting. overall we are very happy with the coat for the couple costume we are going for this year and like it can be used more than once for multiple ideas in the years to come. I bought in a few costume coats like this before and none of them even shed light on the quality of this one, by far. I mean its sturdy, great material, the inside is lined well with a silky fabric. Pockets are strong, collar stays popped. The buttons are costume buttons but they're buttons. No sweat! All and all, very worth the money. It should cost more to be honest so thankyou. Also! I ordered one size larger than I normally wear, and the coat was still too small. Quality wise the material was thin and didn't feel like it would be rough or stiff to wear, so it probably would have been a pretty good costume piece if it had fit. Also it is *very very* red. Not really a crimson or a rich deep color just absolute crayola crayon red. It's still probably worth it for something you're not gonna use often if it fits you though. ... show more

Purchased this for a Halloween costume. The material is pretty thick, the color was a true red and the design is as expected per the pictures . The lacing in the back helps create a perfect fit. Nice coat for a costume coat. Lined and good weigh for the fabric. Only issue is that the sleeves are too long.ordered a size large. The coat is also a fairly long length for a 5’8” person. For the sleeves, I simply folded them back an inch into the lining, and pressed the fold so it would stay .
