  • Junior drum kit... good value.
Color: Black Metallic
I bought this Mendy drumkit for my youngest nephew Victor, he is age 4. And it seems like a good tool to get into the drumming mood. There is everything a drummer needs, except chair and drumsticks. Pretty easy for anybody to assamble and start playing. Its not really a toy kit, and then again it is, made for small children, and sounds like a play toy drumkit, BUT still, it sounds better, than many other junior drums, and more like a semi proffesional toy kit than more common junior drums often more fragile and made from cheaper materials. This drumkit I bought to give my nephew an interest in rythm and drums in general. I think I soon will be able to measure how deep an impact his drumkit will make on his drumming interest. No doubt a cool junior kit for small children. All drums sounds good - like bright toy drums, and there is something cute about how they look. Most importently is that this kit is very usable. Also can be used by new street drummers. Real semi pro toy drums for small children or young amateur musicians P e a C e And thanks for a good deal. .................................................................................................................. (Delivery was twice the price of the full drum kit). All the way to Denmark. So it was (and is), quite expensive. And that is a much higher cost compared to Pearl's offer on a junior drumkit, with real drums made from wood, Sabian cymbals (crash/ ride / hi hat), all stands and pedals , drumchair and drumsticks in good quality, And Pearl will offer delivery cheaper - and faster anywhere in the World I bought Pearl juinor offer for a good friend's Son. And comparede to the Mendy drum kit, did I save 235 Dollars, Approximately 1.500 kr Danish kroner more (235,9 Dollars), because I got the delivery that much cheaper. I did not order another Mendy kit, though I could use one more junior kit, for another young boy , that I hope to grow up, and become a sublime drummer. But It would be cheaper to buy yet another Pearl drums offer on a junior kit from Denmark, Germany or Sweden. But I will buy other music instruments, and or soundstudio gear, microphones, midi stuff, keyboard, bass, mididrums, racks and so on. • Great drum set
Color: Black Metallic
Great drum set for my son… putting it together with my husband after Christmas and being exhausted wasn’t thrilling but obviously it wasn’t going to come put together, lol! My son really likes it!

  • Good quality but a bit tricky to assemble
Color: Blue Metallic
Good material and build quality, work as described, but instruction lacks illustrations so a bit tricky to assemble. Also the hi hat stand is slippery and moves when play, need a better design with more floor traction

  • Awesome or just okay. It depends on your standards and expectations.
Color: Blue Metallic
Truth is, I do like the set a lot and my little one loves them. He beats the heck out of them and so far the skins are holding up. (He already broke a drum stick hitting the sides of the drum, not the skin.) They look awesome and after tuning they will sound pretty good, except for the rattles. So I have to knock off a star for the terrible instructions and one star for the cheap hardware and rattles. UPDATE: Victory! I found the rattling problem. The tension blocks have a spring inside them to hold the T-nuts in position. I suspected this was the problem all along. So tonight I pulled Tom #2 apart and replaced all the springs with foam blocks. (I had some that came with a motorcycle battery recently purchased and they were perfect after a little triming. Cut them a little big so they fit tight in the cavity.) Once I put everything back together, all the rattles in the Tom were gone! So I did the other Tom tonight and will do the bass and floor Tom tomorrow. I might even do the Snare Drum just so they are all the same. If this kind of thing bugs you it's a pretty easy (but time consuming) and worthwhile solution. I can't wait to get the bass and floor Tom cleaned up and see how it sounds all tuned up. Should be pretty good. If you are going to do this during first assembly, allow at least an hour more to do them all. For the money and for the intended use (child's first set of drums) it's a good buy. But there are some issues that may make you want to pass for even that usage. It just depends on your standards. All aspects of this product are good to excellent with the following exceptions: 1. Instructions? 90% useless. You will end up figuring it out on your own. The items are not well illustrated and it takes some figuring to know what part is what. It took me about an hour and a half to put it together. If I were redoing it today it'd take 20 minutes. The rest of the time was trying to figure out what they were referring to in the instructions. (That time does not include tuning.) 2. The hardware is cheap. Sorry, but that's the only way to describe it. It looks okay but there is a lot of buzziness and rattles when the drums are played. Drives me nuts. I spent a few days trying to get them in tune and for the most part they do sound good. HOWEVER a few days of my little one banging on them the 2nd tom sounds almost like snare due to all the rattles... which leads me to tip #1: When you are assembling these, you might want to tighten all the internal screws for the mounting hardware and tensioning mounts. All of the ones I checked were very loose. Easy to do BEFORE you assemble the drums. 3. No information on how to tension drum pads. Yes there is this "finger tighten two at a time until wrinkles are gone and then add 1/4 turn at a time with the drum key." Okay... if you follow that you will get something that sounds like a soggy waffle iron. I went to youtube and there are many good videos on how to tune drums. The foot pedal on the hi-hat broke w/in days. Impossible to fix. The drum pedal the bass/kick drum is horrible. Moves all over the place. If your child starts to drum seriously you will need to buy a Drum Works or similar. I'm not a drummer, but I do have some musical training so maybe my standards are too high. Plan on spending a little time tuning them. NOTE: These are imported. It says Mendini by Cecilio but when I went to the Cecilio website, they had no drums list. So good luck finding the real manufacturer and parts. ... show more
