This set is great! Purchased for our daughter’s birthday. I originally was going to get a different set, but my order was canceled due to out of stock, so I decided one this one instead. Our daughter loves when we listen to rock music and has taken an interest in drums, so we really like that she can grow with this. Plus my husband and I will have fun playing the drums with her. The directions are not completely clear and can be more difficult when you have a toddler trying to help you install and pieces are missing, lol. The color we purchased was silver and it looks good. We are happy with the price option that was for this color compared to the others that were $50 or more. Everything was packaged well and looks great once all put together. Stool is comfortable and easy to adjust. Everything seems very durable and can handle our toddler playing with it.

I'm really feeling more like a three and a half, but I'll go 4 because I got everything intact and complete. I purposely bought this as an adult as I live in NYC and renting a room in an apt. I also had plans to replace all the heads and use some of it as a portable kit for a few small venue spots and open mics. I was fully aware that this was a kid's kit, but I was disappointed to see some things far smaller than needed, like the high hat. It's super tiny. Still, it will work for my plans. The snare wasn't what I'd hoped. It's a fixed snare like in a cajon, and it's fixed to the "top" head. I think if I flip it over and change the bottom head, my plans will stay intact, but that was a disappointment too. Lastly, the cymbal holder that goes into the bass drum does some weird stuff to the sound. I was getting a horrible ongoing reverberation thru the bass drum every time I hit it. Also, there's not enough give to make a nice crash sound. I can barely tighten the wingnut before it's choking off the cymbal's sound. I resolved the reverb thing by wrapping some tennis grip around the stand and taping off with electric tape. Inserting as little of the stand as possible into the bass drum also helped. And of course, the age old trick of putting some padding or old pillows into the bass drum was good too.

My kids wanted to play drum. I got this for them and have to say it is very sturdy and good for them to play with. It is light weight and the color is blue which is their favorite.

First off - you need to temper your expectations with this kit. Keep the price in mind and be comfortable with the idea that this is going to be a whacking set. I got this for my youngest’s 5th birthday after he showed interest in my electric kit. This set is a great entry level kit. Just the right size and, surprisingly, well put together. The construction is solid and this kit does sound good despite the price. Having said that, I’ve played for over 30 years and I’m familiar with set up and tuning. I mention this only because, for me, putting the kit together was a breeze. Keep in mind that the snare beads are inside the drum and not outside like a majority of snare drums. You need to adjust the tension on the side for more/less snare sound. Also, the cymbals are cheap (junk may be a more accurate description) but this is also how I assume the manufacturer keeps the cost down. I would also mention that the pin designed to keep the hi-hat pedal in place didn’t fit. Easily solved with a trip to the hardware store for a thin bolt though. All in all, this is a kit that can grow with your child or something you won’t regret buying if they lose interest. If you aren’t familiar with drums and their set up or how to adjust them, always go to YouTube where you can find literally 1000’s of videos on the subject.

Assembly was a bit confusing but once assembled the kids are loving it and making plenty of "music" my neighbors are thrilled with the amount of sounds and volume this drum set can produce. It has stood up to quite a beating already. Perfect size for children from 2 years up to preteens seem to enjoy using it. The included stool seat can support a 250 pound man, I've tested it for you. Over all good quality and value for the money. This kit is not for professionals playing an arena but is great for the kids to learn music.
