I've never ordered swim trunks online, but I haven't been able to find what I wanted in stores at a price I was willing to pay, so I took a chance on the Kanu Surf brand. First, I had the hardest time deciding which color and pattern I wanted; they have SO many options. I'm 5'7", though, so I knew I didn't want any more pairs that came down to my knees or beyond (which was all I had at home). I needed something that would be higher up my leg so I could expose my legs to more sunlight. I also wanted it to be thin enough to dry quickly, but not too thin that it wouldn't last long (or reveal too much). I finally placed my best on the Byron Plaid Swim Trunks in Aqua/Pink. When they arrived, they were everything I wanted. They fit perfectly and were the perfect length for my short stature. They also dried pretty quick after being in the pool. I'm already contemplating what my next pattern and color of Kanu Surf swim trunks will be... UPDATE: I ordered another pair, this time in the Byron Blue combination, which is orange and blue plaid. This time I ordered a small instead of a medium. I have a 30/31 waist. It's a little snug getting it on, but once it's on, it looks great. I bought four of these in different colors. I always cut the liner out of swim suits and wear a jock underneath so I can’t comment on the liner comfort. But overall I’m very happy with these after two years of heavy use. They gave me a way out of the “board shorts” which are just too big and bulky. These are trimmer but not “short shorts” either. Overall a more modern fit, comfortable, pockets, colors and great price make these trunks a real winner! ... show more

I really liked this swimsuit and is very hard to find in any retail stores. I read the reviews about a few issues with length. I ordered a large since I have a 36 in waist and ordered a Large. Upon arrival I tried on and was disappointed. The mesh was really tight as well as the fit was too snug. I returned through Amazon quick return policy and ordered the XL. When I got the second pair it fit just like my regular Large board shorts. The fit was great and even the mesh wasn't too tight! I love these shorts now. I didn't have any issues with the length as other reviews have stated. They sit just above the knees where they should sit. I would recommend ordering the next size up. ... show more

I've purchased about five pair of these trunks for my teenage son and they are really nice. They seem to be well made and durable and they didn't really fade even with swimming in a chlorinated poor and laundering. They are vibrant , attractive and durable. They have a nice net under layer , draw string and generosity sized pockets. I've managed to buy each pair on sale for $3.50-$7 so I've been pleased with the value. You can often find them on sale if you keep an eye out. My son is 120lbs, 5'5" with a slim frame and both small and medium have worked for him however the smalls do have a closer , better fit. Ideal User These swim trunks are great for anyone that wears adult sizes and needs something to wear in and around the water. They work great in pools, lakes, rivers, and the ocean. I was concerned that lake water might stain the white drawstrings, but they came clean after being washed. Fit These swim trunk's sizing was just what I had expected them to be; they didn't run big or small. They are made of a thin, slick material that is comfortable and dries quickly. They are also very durable and will not rip or tear easily. The trunks have a comfortable elastic waistband with a drawstring that lets you wear them as tightly or loosely as you like. They come with a white, fishnet-like lining that many swim trunks have. I personally find those kind of linings uncomfortable, but I easily got it out with a pair of scissors and you can't tell by looking at the outside of the trunks. They also come with pockets, which I consider to be a big plus because sometimes it can be hard to find trunks with pockets. Look The trunks have bright, vivid colors and look just like the trunks in the picture. Overall I am very happy with these swim trunks. ... show more

I really, really like this bathing suit. I bought two...my other review is under the purple paisley one. Fits like it stated, great length...not too long and not too short... the colors are outstanding (they faded just a bit with swimming in chlorine, but not too noticeable), and worth every penny. I was looking at "designer" men's swim suits before I bought this. Glad I didn't spend over $100 on something that is probably half the quality of this! I also really like how these have liners. I loved everything about these bathing suits when I first received them and tried them on. They look great, they fit great (once you find the size you need), the outer material seems quality, and the tie string is pretty heavy duty. I wanted to give these 5 stars. I just got back from a weeklong trip to the Caribbean where I wore these most of the day - swimming, walking, exploring, eating... The inside netting chafed the absolutely fire out of my inner thighs. It was so bad that the first time I got into the ocean I thought I was being stung by jellyfish because the chafe was being irritated worse by the saltwater. I caution you against buying these unless they're going to be worn strictly in the pool and then removed. The inner netting is VERY low quality. Some of the suits you could cut it out of but some of the suits are also see through and the netting prevents them from showing too much. I probably won't buy these again after my experience on vacation. ... show more
