Updated Feb 2023: I am changing my rating from 1 to 5 stars. MelodieSusie’s customer service was great. I emailed them a video of the problem, and they immediately mailed me a new handpiece. I received it quickly and it has worked without issue since then. I use the drill at least once a week between levels 5-9 to remove gel and/or dip powder, and it still works great. The dust collector filter is very effective at pulling dust out of the air so that I don’t breathe it in or get it all over my desk, and is easy to clean. I purchased this item on April 1, 2022. I have only used it a few times since then, and it worked fine until yesterday. The drill completely stopped working right in the middle of use on level 5. I checked all power cords and tried different drill bits - nothing. The fan part still turns on, it’s just the drill that quit working. I am beyond amazon’s return window so I have reached out to Melody Susie’s customer service and will update review based on their response.

I recently bought the Melody Susie 2 in 1 e-file + dust collector on a recommendation after doing much research and hearing good things (I've been diy dipping my nails since August). I'd been so excited to try this e-file because I'd heard great things about the quality, but I ran into some things that have really bothered me about it. On only my 2nd use, there was a noticeable "wobble" when I turned the drill on. Also, no matter what bit I use or what speed, the e-file is so uncomfortable, I can feel the harsh vibration all the way down to my nail beds. The direction didn't fix this. I've practiced on it so much and tried learning so much but nothing has been able to fix this for me. Recently I heard from a professional that the "wobble" and the discomfort was coming from a faulty internal issue. I thought it was just me, which is why I practiced on it so much! I don't know if this is a known issue with this particular model, or if I received a bad one. But my nail beds are sore (I never filed directly on them) and I'm super disappointed. 😞 The dust collector portion of the device seems to work pretty well though. *EDITED* Just wanted to say that I reached out to the seller/manufacturer and their customer service is really great. They assisted me with the problem and sent me a replacement for my faulty machine. Really appreciate this.

Pros: collects dust well. Design is smooth and doesn’t catch clothing. Filters are easy to change. Options for speed and fan speed. The square size fits a small nail table unlike other rectangle ones. Bits included are nice for prep, cuticle, light work. Cons: buttons are positioned where they are seen easily, but I seem to hit them unintentionally often. You will still need different bits for acrylic/dip/glitter removal. Drill started to sputter and seize right before the 1 year mark. Contacted company. They offered 20% off my next drill, which was totally nice of them. Would have preferred a longer-lasting drill. The dust collector is going strong though. I use a portable rechargeable drill with it instead. I use the dust collector often. Nice starting set for the money.

Great E-file! I am new to using e-files while doing my dip nails, and have o my used this a few times but it works great! I checked when I was finished filing to see if it had really sucked in the dust and it did! I had red dip nails and saw a nice ring of red dust in the collecting filter. I love that it came with bits, too. Overall a great drill and I love the dust collector! It’s sleek. Only cons I can see are that the fan is a little loud on the highest setting and the buttons are really easy to tap off during filing. But super easy to maneuver around!

I love that it all just fits together nicely and is 2 in 1 and I don't need to have 2 separate items. Packaged really nicely! The dust collector has a really nice and sleek look to it, surprisingly very lightweight. The hand piece is lightweight as well but sturdy. I will say though, that when working be mindful of the buttons. They are pretty sensitive to the touch, a light bump can easily turn it off or mess up your current settings. It also comes with 5 sanding bands in various grits as well as 5 cuticle bits and a mandrel for the sanding bands. Filing was very nice, I used it to file down hard gel nails it filed them down very nicely and didn't really skip at all even on the lower settings. Hand piece runs nice and quiet, the only noise you really get is from the fan when you are running it at either medium/high speed. Filter caught all the dust and was easy to clean it out before storing. I wrapped it in some of the paper towels I work on and just lightly patted the back of the filter to knock the dust out of it. Mine did take almost 2 weeks to ship, but overall it was definitely worth the waiting!

I'm a stay-at-home mom who's a nail enthusiast. I needed a dust extractor because nail dust goes absolutely EVERYWHERE. I also needed a better e-file so this was just perfect! The dust extraction is great and the e-file - I cannot tell you how nice the e-file is! It feels good in your hand, like it's a quality product (which it is). I feel like there's very little vibration, but I'm not a pro and I have really no experience judging it against other e-files. I love that it has a display telling your speed and I also love that it has a forward/ reverse option. I don't know how well this would hold up in a professional setting, but I do know that if you're doing your nails at home, this is the product for you! EDIT: My e-file stopped working. It started making some weird noises kind of like metal pieces rattling around inside the hand piece whenever it was in use. Then the hand piece started getting really hot - too hot to hold. And then it just stopped working entirely. Of course this happened a couple of months after the 6 month warranty ran out. Ended up purchasing another e-file to use separately and just unplugged the hand piece that came with the dust collector. I am still able to use the dust collector without the e-file plugged and that part is still working just fine. My advice is to just get the dust collector and not the 2-in-1 option. Wish that's what I'd done from the beginning and saved some $$.

Please please do not get this product I’ve only had this for 2 month and the drill stopped working it only goes up to speed 5 now. They won’t give me a refund or replacement, don’t waste 100+ dollars on something that stops working ik it’s popular & temping but please don’t!! I had the same thing happen to my regular melody Susie drill and now this!!!

UPDATE: After 2 months (June), started to have issues with the drill; Amazon window closed in May...drill would stop then start when moving cord...I contacted MelidySusie, hours later they responded and requested a video to better understand my claim. Once I sent video, hours later they responded what the problem was and stated they would send a drill replacement. So within a weeks time of claim I received new drill...kudos to MelodySusie's customer service. I love this dust collector with the drill. I read and watched videos about review on this product. Personal experience it collected 99% of the dust the other % on the edge of the duster; yes the buttons are sensitive to touch for me the speed of the suction would change if the drill cord touch it but when I put the cord to go above hand instead of below no problem. I have 3 drills and by far this is my favorite. I also received a 20% off coupon code on drill bit sets (6 to choose from) love the way they work smooth filing.
