I love these so much that I’ve purchased three of them over the past couple years. They hold so much! I store stuffed animals, blankets and towels in them. They’re super easy to open and close. The best part you have to actually push the lid down to close it, so no worries about the lid falling down and hurting your fingers (especially if you have kids who use it). It has a mild wood smell, but no funky odors like some products have, which is nice. They’re solidly built, but not really heavy. We’ve had this toy chest in our playroom for about two years now, and I’m honestly impressed by how well it checks all the boxes. Sturdiness: Right out of the box, you can feel how solid this thing is. It’s not flimsy particleboard—it’s actual wood, and it holds up to daily toy explosions from our 4-year-old. My son even climbs in and out of it sometimes (we’re working on that 😅) and it hasn’t budged or wobbled. Ease of Use: Assembly was super manageable. Clear instructions, no missing parts, and it came together in under an hour with just a screwdriver. The cut-out handles on the sides make it easy to move if needed. Latches: One of my favorite things: the safety hinge! The lid has a slow-close mechanism that prevents it from slamming shut—total peace of mind when little fingers are around. It stays open at various angles, too, so you don’t have to prop it up manually. Size: It’s surprisingly spacious! We fit an entire zoo’s worth of stuffed animals, a bunch of Hot Wheels tracks, books, and a soccer ball, and there’s still room left. Great for keeping the floor from turning into a minefield of Legos. Weight: Heavy enough to feel durable and secure, but still light enough that I can slide it around if needed. I’d say it’s the perfect middle ground. Color: The gray is beautiful—neutral but modern. It blends perfectly with the rest of our playroom furniture and doesn’t scream “kiddie” in a way that clashes with your decor. Overall, this toy box is fine. It has provided a place to store toys and helped create a sense of responsibility in my child and keeping after their belongings. The size of the box is decent, it can hold a good amount of toys. Color is as advertised, a nice neutral grey. Construction is simple, it's a box. But when you get to the accessories needed for hinges, the holes don't line up and securing them is awkward. The screws used to put the box together also take some considerable torque, which most hands do not possess. A drill is needed to GENTLY tighten them once the box is nearly done. There is also an unpleasant smell from the paint. It's been weeks and the smell is still hanging around. This is called off-gassing, hopefully no harmful vocs, as this is a kid's toy box. I researched these boxes for way too long and this does seem to be the best, safest storage for the cost. It also provides a nice reading seat for little ones. ... show more

Great quality solid wood material. No sharp edges and very safe. Doesn’t closed on its own. My kid can safely grab his toys and looks great on his bedroom. Easy to build but you do need a screwdriver and some patience to build it.
