Neither of my kids enjoyed this set, however it is a really good set and I know that my kids aren’t creative in the art sense.     • Problems with the ink...

I purchased this kit for my 4 year old niece for Christmas. She was not yet familiar with stamps, but she LOVES arts and crafts! Stamps are durable and a fun collectors item - great for multiple craft purposes over one's lifespan. This is such a cute kit that provides a variety of stamps, pink and purple ink, and colored pencils for coloring in the stamped images. Perfect - right? Almost. I was so disapointed to hear back from my niece that only the purple ink would work and that the pink ink was completely dried up. Small deal to us adults but big deal to a 4 year old. So now the perfect stamp kit is going to keep costing me more time and money as i need to buy a pink refil and additional stamp pads since the pink ink did not work at all. Bummer. Due to this experience i doubt i will be purchasing any more Melissa and Doug ink pads. ... show more

As a grandmother, I love Melissa & Doug Rubber Stamps kits. They are in a cute wooden box and stamps are high quality and easy for toddlers to use. What I especially love are the washable stamp pads. This particular set includes color pencils which my granddaughter is starting to use. My daughter has been into stamps for the past few months. I purchased the Melissa & Doug Friendship Stamp Set as a Christmas present for her. She LOVES it. She uses it daily. The ink is very faint (as other reviews have mentioned), but it's washable ink so I didn't expect it to be bold and vibrant. I liked the fact that it is washable. It means I can let her use it in her room and not worry about her getting it on the carpet. I don't know about other children, but my daughter has a bad habit of wiping her little fingers on anything handy (clothing, carpets, bedding, tablecloths, etc) when they get dirty. There's a nice variety of stamps. The colored pencils were a nice bonus. I wish it had a lid of some type, but over-all we're really pleased with this stamp set. ... show more
